Normally with front and back squats it's not an issue. OHS' are a completely different beast. I feel really off balance if I don't use the platform under my heels.

Personally I don't like to eat anything before a WOD. I feel weighted down and my stomach gets upset most times from all the movement. If I were you I would wait until after the wod to eat...
