Re: Coaches working out during classes???

For sure, separate times, but I will say I love my coaches to workout in class with the members. Do what we do and be around to help the people around them if needed. Clients love working out with...

Re: Battling ropes -- yes or no?

They are ok. Fun to add in here and there. They are good for my shoulders and work my grip some. They aren't the end all be all for sure, but not a bad tool. Definitely get them when you want...

Re: Affiliates selling supplements

We sell what our clients ask for in the gym. I believe in SFH and if they want to buy a container of it online they can do that or through us. We sell water, but I'm about to stop because I hate...

Re: Implementing a price increase?

I think your goal is important too. Do you want to cut membership down some because you are having issues with class size? In this business you would rather have 100 people at 150 than the...

Re: Class Size

Class size is dictated by 3 things in my experience - coaching experience and ability, sq footage, and equipment. We have some classes on Monday nights that are 35 people, but we have 6k sq feet a...

Re: Day job and Affiliate?

That was what I did for Lunch... The biggest pain was trying to train myself.

Re: Day job and Affiliate?

I agree that when I started having more class times and having 1 or 2 people show up wasn't as much fun. So I actually went from 5 classes a day (6am, 12pm, 5, 6, 7) to 3 classes - 6am, 12pm, 6pm. ...

Re: favorite affiliate website

Agree with Adam and love his work since he built my site. www.ultimatecrossfit.com wfs. The wordpress theme selection was hard because you want to get it perfect but every step after that has been...

Re: has an affiliate ever been revoked for sucking?

I will bite just a bit. CrossFit HQ is there to make money and provide a service, if people will pay for that 1800 dollar cert because they want it, good for them and HQ.

Form is terrible in...

Re: Crossfit in Charlotte, NC

There are multiple locations you can find around town - I'm just down south blvd from uptown(maybe 1.5 miles) - www.ultimatecrossfit.com, there is Steele Creek(who responded), CrossFit Voltage would...

Re: A snatch question

I've never done max front squat. I did 3x3 at 147# recently. It was hard, but not that hard. Why front squats?

oops. this is mie. I am posting from the gym computer....

Re: MuscleDriver Wall Timer

We have both the title and the clock gone bad. I love the title because we do some 3 on 1 off stuff. But for PURE CrossFit, clock gone bad is DEFINITELY the way to go.

Re: When clients miss classes -- credit them?

I like the punch cards. We have a large membership and for the select few that do other sports and want to come in 1 or 2 times a week it is solid. I put a punch card limit of 90 days. Zen Planner...

Re: Mind Body Online Yes or No

I did a trial of both before I picked zen planner. MBO was hard to use. I know it has a high learning curve, but I just didn't feel like I needed a lot of what it did.

Re: Named Workouts Back to Back?

I like to mix it up where we do long suffer WODs on Saturdays. The majority of our programming is 20mins and under, but I think it helps to make them suffer for a long time once every week or two. ...

Re: Mind Body Online Yes or No

I may be in the minority, but I love zenplanner. So easy to use and setup. It handles all of my billing. It could handle my schedule, but I don't have people sign up for classes in advance. It is...

Re: Tracking Clients payments

Another Zen Planner guy. I love it. Simple and does everything I want it to do. I figure if I ever need the additional Mind Body functionality I can go to it. Zen Planner just seemed to be much...

Re: The Crossfit Talk

I always like to talk about it being the sport of fitness. Make sure they know this is their workout, they can take breaks and get water anytime. And finally that I want my clients to approach...

Re: MindBodyOnline, AMEX Plum Card & CC Processing for Affiliates

I felt the same way when I used the demo. I really think zen planner is great for what I need it for - ACH / some scheduling. They are really responsive and have been great. You can also try them...

Re: Ultimate Crossfit

Jason,

I really appreciate the kind words. Having a powerlifter of your caliber in the gym was fun to talk numbers but even more fun to see you making the transition to O-Lifting. No pressure, but...

Re: MindBodyOnline, AMEX Plum Card & CC Processing for Affiliates

I like zen planner better from an ease of use perspective, but I see a lot of the affiliates going with MBO. Zen planner just felt better, more streamlined to me when I tested them. Maybe it is my...

Very interesting discussion. I don't have much to add other than -
I charge what I think is fair for the service and I will find out if it is fair based on people deciding to pay

I offer the 10...

Re: Bumper Storage Racks

We just stack our behind the racks. There have been no issues and no complaints. I complain sometimes because people keep putting the 10s on the 15s pile... but the clients don't mind.
