Re: P90x

Also, I would be hesitant to issue a statement against Tony Horton's organization when Horton can beat him in just about every test of physical prowess save maybe eating zone-ratioed twinkies for...

Re: P90x

Except that this isn't at all the case. The vast majority of affiliates have added at least miniscule amounts of periodization to their programs as they have realized that it provides superior...

Re: P90x

Re: CrossFit & Wendler's 5/3/1 hybrid results reports

Two reasons.

1. I want to find what works best. I love using myself as a lab and am always curious about ways to reap the maximum return on my exercise investments.

2. I switched to a...

Re: CrossFit & Wendler's 5/3/1 hybrid results reports

I just finished up a 9-week Westside cycle during which I made better gains than I did with a few cycles of standard 5/3/1. For my next go round I am planning to do what Wendler recommends for...

Re: 4 Hour Body incorporated into routines?

I know you've been posting here for a while...so I'm curious - do you think the book was worth your time/money? I've read a lot from many of the subject matter experts Ferris uses for the book (Mark...

Re: Meaning of PRs

Excellent, concise post. One small note....while Louie might have changed his mind since, in the book of Methods I believe he says to wave the (ungeared) squat from 70-80%, but keep the bench at...

Re: Conjugate CF article

I'm confused as to how a metcon would help if you are already beat up. If you lighten the load on the speed squats and sled drags they could certainly be used for recovery.

Re: Conjugate CF article

This is pretty much exactly what I do as well. As mentioned before, I will vary it if I am feeling off that day, or increase the weight some if I am feeling great - so long as the lifts stay speedy...
