Just tested. If I lay on it with the thin end towards my butt, I do feel some discomfort in my lower back. If I reverse it and put the fat end words my butt, it feels fine.

Sounds about the same symptoms I have. But in my case the subluxation occurred while doing pull-ups. So, I have had to do some research in this area.
