Isn't the master's scaled T2B doing sit ups?

ETA: Oops, went and looked and it is only sit up for the upper age brackets.

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

Trying to tune in to ESPNnews as instructed on ESPN2 and I get a "user not authorized error". WTH?

Nevermind- got the error trying to find it online, but managed to find the ESPNNews channel (207 on...

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

Yup, Directtv sucks! Glad my sister was willing to share her Cox password so I can watch it this year.

Re: Improving the run

Trust me- no offense taken. I should have started my post that way- I suck at running. I'm fat and I'm slow. But- I'm much better than I was and despite not losing as many pounds as I would have...

Improving the run

I suck at running. I'm slow. I can't seem to run faster unless I am on a treadmill where it is either run fast or fall on my face. I pretty much have 2 speeds- "sprinting" and a pace I can run more...

Re: Planning meals around work out times

Thanks for the replies.

Quite honestly, I have horrible motivation issues and if I don't plan it out, I will eat ice cream on the way home and skip the workout! (Especially since I am going to a...

Planning meals around work out times

Up until now, my schedule was getting up at 430am, commuting over an hour, CF class at 545am and then continuing on with my day. While probably not the best plan, what worked for me was drinking...

Re: Doing your own thing at a box?

Where I was at they had open gym once a week (but I think also offered a WOD, I never did weekends so I'm not sure). They also had barbell club on occasion for those who wanted to do more lifting and...

Re: Choosing a programming plan

Unfortunately my box doesn't post the workouts anywhere other than the white board. I have several sites bookmarked. I'll watch them a bit closer and see which one looks like the best fit and give it...

Choosing a programming plan

I've been going to the same CF box since I started (with the exception of 2 drop-in days at another facility when I was out of town for work). Our coaches do all the programming on the same pattern...

Re: What does a "good box" mean to you?

Yeah, coming in early to warm up on my own would not work for me. As it is, I leave my house at 430am to get to class by 545. I do try and get there a bit early to do extra stretching on my own if I...

Re: What does a "good box" mean to you?

I think you should go visit some of the other boxes in your area. I got lucky and started with one that is perfect for me- group warm ups with lots of stretching (and this is usually the time when we...

Re: Pull Up Alternatives

We start with jumping pull ups before the bands. Work on the negative while you are doing them.

Re: is just following the wod crossfit?

Our classes are generally at least an hour. Some sort of warm up, working on the skills needed for the workout that day, doing the workout and some cool down. If it is a short workout, lots of people...

Heel spur (suspected), plantar fasciitis and minimal shoes

Hey all- I transitioned to Merrill minimalist shoes about 4-5 months ago and love them. Didn't have any soreness issues at all during the transition and no issues since. Last week, we did a tough...

Re: How to get over the fact that I am so out of shape and embarassed about it.

I'm right there with you and I've been doing CrossFit for about a year now. I'm almost always the last one done with a workout and am guaranteed to be only halfway through a running workout when...

Re: 2013 Goals?

1. Do CrossFit at least 4 days/wk.
Week 2: Only got 2 days this week due to being sick- shooting for 4 next...

Re: The New Kid

Our warm ups vary a bit with the trainer, but we tend to do some running (usually 400m or so) and combine things like high knees, inch worm, lunges, frog jumps, etc. If we are doing DU, we will jump...

Re: Day 2 at Crossfit

What I read somewhere:

DFL (dead effing last) is better than DNF (did not finish) is better than DNS (did not start).

Not finishing a workout is far better than not being there. I finish every...

Re: My CrossFit Journey Starts Tomorrow

Good luck! I started CrossFit having no idea what I was getting into and am still at it almost a year later. The community is really what keeps me going- having people that care how I am doing, want...
