Rotator Cuff Inflammation

So being dumb and doing 10 x 5 Reps of Pwr Snatch @ 130lbs on Monday followed by 5 x 3 Reps of Pwr Snatch @ 170lbs on Tuesday I've managed to tweak my rotator cuff.

As soon as I felt the pain I...

Know your audience....

I'm not one for this but found this quite funny.

I train at a powerlifting gym. There are some very strong people at this gym (I'm not one of them btw).

I'm one of two people who do CF type...

Squat sub when short of time

With the risk of being told the obvious I know there is no substitute for back squats, however, due to training in a globo with 1 Squat Rack any suggestions for a suitable back squat sub when time is...

Re: Repeat a WOD

4 WODS per day is stupid and I'd say almost impossible to do at high intensity for a sustained period of time.

Overtraining is almost certain.....

Re: Motivation

Hi Guys

Thanks for the comments. I think the problem is the exact opposite of over training. I've just recovered from Swine flu over Christmas period and have been struggling to get motivated back...

Motivation

Exercise (particularly CF & CF football in recent years) have been a big part of my life for a long time but recently I've been struggling with the motivation to actually go to the gym - when I'm...

Re: Man vs Food

Apparently he trains twice a day while 'on the road'.

After every 'challenge' he does an hour on the treadmill - I'm sure I'd throw up.

This is a car crash TV show - it's so bad you have to watch.

Man vs Food

Words fail me.

Never seen anything like that before.... So much food....such bad food.

Both grim and awe inspiring.

Re: How have we arrived at this place in our evolution ?

For some reason that reminds me of this:

'Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire...

Re: Bad case of doms or something worse?

So pain has continued - not getting much better, not getting worse.

Went to see an osteopath today after reading Stephen Lows' article about back injuries suspecting that my current 'pain' may be...

Re: How have we arrived at this place in our evolution ?

I don't think anyone is looking for sympathy, most people I encounter who are obese both know it and know why. They have a choice and make it. Should they get any special treatment because of their...

Re: Bad case of doms or something worse?

Steven - a really useful article. It's interesting that DOMS can be seen as a precusor to Rhabdo if not handled correctly, but it does make alot of sense.

After reading your article and doing some...

Re: How have we arrived at this place in our evolution ?

This is the first thread I've read from start to finish in a long time.

It's quite depressing that an organisation dedicated to 'fat acceptance' even exists. It says two things 1. As a species we...

Re: Bad case of doms or something worse?

Thanks Both

Katherine - it doesn't seem to be affecting much else except DL and Back Extensions. Cleans, Snatches etc are 'uncomfortable' when the weight gets a bit higher but as i can't lift...

Bad case of doms or something worse?

In doing August 5th WOD I managed to hurt my lower back (stiff and sore to lift toilet seat). I scaled the next couple of WODs and it remained sore and stiff for a few more days. Next time I went...

Re: Make my shoulder press better

Benjamin

Thanks for the perspective - I think you may be onto a point there. The reason for wanting to improve the lift is because it's the only one that seems to have stopped increasing over my...

Re: Make my shoulder press better

Hi Guys

Thanks for the replies.

I don't weigh and measure in any great detail but aim for at least 1g Protein for every lb of bodyweight although generally I'm higher than that most days, I eat...

Re: Make my shoulder press better

Ok, yeah I was a bit light on info.

I follow CFFB so press probably at least once a week in one form or another.

Make my shoulder press better

Any thoughts would be appreciated....

All my other lifts continue to increase but Shoulder Press has stalled at 154lbs for 1RM and 143lbs for 3RM.

I have tried lowering the weight and going back up...

Re: What excercise makes you puke everytime?

Just a response to the European Rugby not being as much about force and hence less injuries - I've played a ton of rugby in the UK and have seen alot of injuries (not only to myself) broken bones,...
