Re: Garage crossfitters -> how to do wall balls?

My original gym was in our basement. It was 8' between the rafters to the subfloor. I used a 30 lb slam ball to that height. I don't know if it's a perfect substitute but it surely didn't feel any...

Re: Nano 3.0 Vs Inov8 240

Brian,

I like the nano's for everything but running. They are wide, flat and stable. They are also very comfortable. But I feel like I'm running in clown shoes when wearing them. I always wear...

Re: RockTape Knee Caps are out.

I just got a pair of the 5mm in yesterday. Prior, I have used Tommy Kono rubber sleeves which are great for warmth, offer slight compression but can be worn for a long time. I also have a pair of...

Try this one. This is still a work in progress but the possibilities are endless.

Re: Rig idea for my yard

The Fidel rig arrived today from Triton. This thing is amazing! The 3" x 3" uprights are massive. Fit and finish are perfect, they even survived the trip via FedEx with virtually no marks. Putting...

Re: Rig idea for my yard

I just ordered the Fidel rig, it looks solid. I was on the verge on getting the Castro until I came across this posting. I can attest that Peter is very responsive and great to talk with. The specs...

Re: Fixing Bumper plate inserts?

I have some Pendlay change plates with loose inserts. I contacted them and they suggested that Loctite has been working well per some of their other customers. I haven't had a chance to try it but it...

Re: Garage Gym - Flooring

The most I've ever dropped from overhead is 260. Tons of reps from 135 to 225. The bumpers were mostly York bumpers and currently Pendlay comp bumpers but I suspect the bulk of the damage occurred...

Re: Garage Gym - Flooring

I'm in the process of moving. For nearly 7 years, my basement gym has been lined with rubber mats, similar to stall mats. The concrete took a beating. I have quite a few cracks, some 1/4" or more...

Re: GoRuck gear thoughts

The 230's were as light as I was willing to go. I have 195's and wanted to wear them but I felt the little extra cushioning would be a blessing and it was. Besides, what's the point in shaving an...

Re: GoRuck gear thoughts

Hi Quinn,
I hadn't really intended to write about the experience itself but will put some thoughts down in this thread to add to the overall experience I had.

First, I read quite a few blogs on...

GoRuck gear thoughts

I just finished the GoRuck Challenge in Manchester NH this weekend and decided to make a post about what I brought in case it might be helpful for anyone deciding to do one of these.

I read many...

Re: Shoes for GORUCK

I just did the Manchester, NH GoRuck yesterday. Wore Inov8 F-lite 230's, no problem. I also used BodyGlide on my heels, balls of the feet and top of toes. Had a chance to change socks two times and...

Re: Strength Wraps vs Wrist Wraps

I've found plain old sweat bands are great for reducing friction on muscle ups.

Re: way fair has pendlay bumpers on sale

Vent,
Call the customer service number. I bought the Pendlay bearing bar and a week later it dropped $56. They gave me a credit for the difference, they would have refunded back to me if I wanted...

Re: Motorola MotoACTV

Steve,

I bought it when it first came out last November. I used it for the next 3 months and probably had about 50 runs on it. I just sold it on ebay a few weeks ago. The device has a lot of...

Re: 10% off Pendlay Bearing Bar and Bumpers

That last code that Lewis posted is still good today, at least it was when I placed an order a few hours ago. Thanks to this thread, I've got a full set of Pendlay elites, very nice. Thanks for all...

Re: Muscle-up 'Century Club'

Digging this thread out. Did 100 MU this week, 25:41. Forearms are a little raw from rubbing against the straps at the top of the movement but other than that, no issues. I'm happy with the lack of...

Re: Good Place to buy a Camera??

Amazon, BH Photo, Adorama are all good to deal with. The prices probably won't vary too much if it's a new product, though.

If going used, look for last year's model and check eBay and Craigslist....

Re: Does anyone keep their rope outside year round?

Nearly 5 years now for my manilla rope and it's solid. A little darker but there is no deterioration at all. I got mine with an "Eye" sewn into one end. Put my ladder up on the branch, looped the eye...

Re: new rogue squat stand/press rack/Pull up bar

Hi Bill,

I have a couple of questions if you come across this thread again:

1. What are the upright dimensions? Is it 2" x 3"?

2. I realize the double bars across the top must add stability but...

Re: Training Mask

I can't verify definitively if they improve performance but I got one on ebay for $20. It is a military gas mask which must be essentially the same thing. I use it occasionally. It definitely makes...

Re: Warrior dash

I just signed up for the Tough Mudder in Vermont for May 7. Taking one of my daughters and 3 of her team mates from her club soccer team. Looking forward to it.
