Backyard paleo

Since there are lots of paleo devotees here I thought I'd share this. I was able to gather a fairly large salad yesterday afternoon from "weeds" in my yard. Picked some dandelion flowers and leaves,...

Dynabody Fitness Equipment

I just purchased some equipment for my garage gym from Dynabody Fitness in Maryville, TN. The three hour drive was more than worth it. Picked up some Ader kettlebells, new at way less than $2 per...

Multiple Sclerosis and nutrition

Does anyone here have direct knowledge or experience with the effect nutrition plays with MS? I've read various articles on the benefits of paleo or similar grain free "diets" but I'm looking for...

Re: Pemmican

Using meat and fat I had from last season. It's almost time to restock the freezer. Deer season starts here next month.

Pemmican

Just made some pemmican. It's about as Paleo, Caveman, or whatever you want to call it, as it gets. I used venison and venison fat, killed by me of course, along with wild blueberries and...

Re: Wright Med Balls

I'm still wondering where the Wright balls and bumpers are made. I can save a load of money on shipping by picking up my bumpers since I don't live too far away. I would however rather spend more to...

Re: How Does Anyone Afford CF?

Justin,
Where are police and fire personnel making 50 - 100 k per year? California and large cities maybe. The rest are barely making ends meet.

Re: Wright Bar

What's the price for the package deal? I'm having trouble getting to the Wright web site. I don't live far from there and if the price is right I can pick up a set.

Re: MIL/LEO operators, advice please?

I've been LE/SWAT/Armorer/Firearms and tactics instructor for some years now and know a thing or two about weapon sysytems. I agree 100% with Ed from many posts back. Stopping power is a myth with...

Re: Lifespan of a climbing rope?

If I can get a few years out of it then it's money well spent.

Judd, I got mine from Rogue. Excellent quality.

Lifespan of a climbing rope?

I recently purchased a 1 1/2" diameter climbing rope but for the most part I'm training in my garage so I don't have a tall enough ceiling to hang a 20' rope. I hate to hang it outside to be exposed...

Re: No Grains/No Sugars Support Group!!

I guess I should up the fat. There is a method to the madness with the egg whites and reduced fat bacon though. By doing that I have more options later in the day as to the amount of fat I can take...

Re: No Grains/No Sugars Support Group!!

I'm on day 19 of no grain/no sugars and had an easy time of it except for one thing. I feel very hungry most of the time. I've kept a training/meal log and nothing really jumps out as being off too...

Re: Grass or Grain

Found nothing on true wild rice. I'm not talking about brown rice but the wild rice that grows in the upper midwest. The Indians there have harvested the stuff for centuries. It's not grown as an...

Grass or Grain

I know that technically wild rice is a grass but for the purpose of "no grains" in the diet where does it fall?

Re: Shooting enthusiasts....

Daniel, What type of shooting do you want to do, hunt, target, self defense, or allt of the above? Right now 20 & 30 round magazines of any type are hard to find although you can check...

Re: Venison

Jay, I did not save any of the organ meats & tongue. I usually save the liver, I don't particularly care for the other organ meats including tongue.

Seems like it's literally feast or famine with...

Venison

I have a pretty good supply of venison, as I do every year, and I was wondering if anyone has actually researched and found anything negative in regards to eating lots of deer meat. I'm talking in...

Re: Resting HRs

Mine seems kinda high too at about 64-68 although it has been higher when I was powerlifting and bodybuilding, both of which I would no longer recommend to anyone.

Another new guy

Another new guy here. In fairly decent shape already but nowhere near good enough. I'm a U.S. Park Ranger so "decent shape" doesn't cut it. Looking forward to making the most of Crossfit.
