Re: Rate my program?
No doubt. Heavy deads are no joke. Key emphasis on heavy. I'm doing 5/3/1 with some conditioning, so my recent venture of 440# deadlift at max reps (7 for me) was just nasty. I can't imagine...

Re: Crossfit for a skinny guy?
Eric Montgomery can advise better, but I think you want to hit your current 5 rep max about 4-6 weeks into the program. Deadlifts are 10# each workout. Everything else is 5# each workout (that'll...

Re: Am I blindly programming?
You're not annoying. I think I speak for many of us that replied when I say I find your willingness to listen very refreshing. My advice is to get a good bench. Search the equipment forum for...

Re: Crossfit for a skinny guy?
+1 for 70's big if you wanna get strong and add size.
It took my squat from a 315# 2x5 to a 340# x 10 just yesterday.
My DL went from a 365# x 5 to a 505# x 1.
Bench was even better. 165#...

Re: Am I blindly programming?
Right. But what is stronger?
Are you trying to reach a 600# deadlift from a current 450#?
Or do you have a 225# dead and want to see 315#?
The answers will be different, and dependent on...

Re: Am I blindly programming?
Can you quantify this a little better? Might help to get you some more specific advice.
Also...with that volume of metcons, I'd imagine it's gonna be hard to put on size without making eating...

Re: Fractional Plates worth the money?
I'll be honest...I bought the Iron Woody fractionals for when we had several ladies following a linear progression in our garage gym. They said they'd help pay for them and then quit coming to...

Re: my first CF experience: Fran!
Something I did when I was following mainpage was go back in time several months (or even a year). I was following a 3/1/2/1 work/rest split and the 3/1 on the mainpage doesn't jive with that. I...

Re: Fight Gone Bad/MMA/Need advice
3.4. Substitute for wall-ball throws?
The "standard" substitute for Wall Ball is either dumbbell or barbell thrusters. Since you can't (or shouldn't, anyway) actually throw the dumbells in the air,...

Re: Fight Gone Bad/MMA/Need advice
Read the faqs. They provide subs for those exercises and you'll learn that you're missing the point of CrossFit by doing the same WOD repeatedly. Go read them and YOU tell US what the recommended...

Is this an option?
Great reviews from Amazon. I'm picking one up myself. I hate using my expensive phone near where I'm swinging KBs & doing thrusters and my...

Re: Crossfit Total
5/3/1 uses lower %'s of your 1RM, so you may get good results. The e-book is WELL WORTH THE $20 even if you only read the section entitled "Moving north of vag." I'm starting the program next week...

Re: A couple questions about weight loss
As an LEO, I'll second this. I've NEVER had to run a mile or more during a chase. Usually a few blocks and some fence jumping, then perhaps a struggle to get cuffs on. Interval runs (and rows),...
