Great lift, Anthony. I'm new to all the Oly lifts, so I have a question. That is a Sumo-Deadlift correct? Is that a personal preference, or what's the reasoning between doing this versus a "standard" deadlift with the arms outside the knees? (This is assuming I have all my terms straight in my head) I apologize if I'm hijacking the thread. Again, congrats.

Yep, that's a sumo deadlift. It's just a personal preference based on leverages, comfort, strengths, etc.

When I plateau, I will switch to a platform pull or a conventional stance ... it's good to train both!

A Sumo-Deadlift is harder to squeeze off the ground, but ultimately the bar has less room to travel. I find that most people are stronger at the sumo-DL, as was I until i started training hard with the O-lifts. After that, i am much stronger now in a conventional stance than i am sumo stance.

I was just having a conversation with my wife about the difficulties of getting a 3 x BW deadlift... Then I happened upon this thread. And to boot, I think I saw a video you posted of yourself doing "Fran" in around 5 minutes. You rock! It's inspiring to see what some of you guys can do. I need to get to the gym.

Excellent work. No assistance as well. Keep it up man. You look so much bigger than your bodyweight. Your musculature is impressive. Keep it up.

I don't think that "some" begins to describe it.

You do a lot more weightlifting than is called for in the WODs. Also, the ME/RE/DE breakdown is probably significantly more useful than the limited ME programming in the WODs.
