Tape your rings with some masking tape, since doing this to mine my false grip has been ultra solid and I can even hang in the full arm extension wrists flicked for a long time. |

Back Squat 5-5-5-5-5 reps
1. 235lbs 2. 235lbs 3. 235lbs 4. 245lbs 5. 255lbs last time 205 215 235 245 255 After th run back ext on mon, and the kb yesterday. My back was feeling warn. I wint in to today with the thought to not worry about maxing. I just went with how my back felt. So I was really happy with meeting the old max and doing more total weight. I didn't expect to get 255 up at all. I felt when I grabbed the bar to start the 255 that I could have gotten more, but I didn't want to get greedy and hurt something. I settled for 255. I had more gas. It felt great. I have been in a great mood all day. I did my lift at 7:30 this morning. This is the first chance to post. |

Oh and i figure a way to check depth by myself that worked great and i was sure to get deep.
Great to hear about your back holding up well during the squats Nik, way to go!
Thanks Bud!! |
Re: Nik
3:00 break
SP 105lbs x 5 115lbs x3 105lbs x5 Mu practice(working on the false grip and flick) couple of MU's 15 deadhang pullups for the heck of it. |
Re: Nik
good going nik, great improvement on Nate and you've upped the total vol on the back squats by 50lbs, sound. Is 255 a 5rm ?

Thanks, yes 255is my 5RM I didn't even think I would hit that. I kind of went at it with form and seeing how my back felt round by round. I bet if I went a sixth round I could have gotten 260 or more. It felt really good, but I didn't want to be greedy and get hurt, it was a great lift as it was. i was on a high from it all day. 10:00 break. We got a new climbing rope hung up yesterday. I played on it. No real work, just messing. I got to the top in a split L. But Icouldn't hold the L on the way down. A good rope is fun. But I was glad to have our home made nylon rope for the time we had it. |
Re: Nik
"Annie"
50-40-30-20 and 10 rep rounds of: Double-unders Sit-ups time 11:10 last time 13:14 I got 10 DU's in a row twice and pretty big bites here and there like 3'd up to 6's and 7's. The secret for me was taking my time and not rushing the DU's. That worked really well. My shoulders got to burning bad on them. Situps were as situps are. We only have two abmatts and if one was open you got it. So a couple of rounds with and a couple of rounds without. Warm up was weak, I got in late and didn't have much time for it. 1 round CFWU ish. Really happy with the workout. Benching at 3:00 today. |
Re: Nik
Nice time! Hopefully today will flow for me.
|
Re: Nik
Another PR Nik, that rest done you good mate. Those double unders need a cool head, the more I mess up on them the more wound up I get and then it gets worse!!

Re: Nik

Thanks, take your time with the DU's let them do the work, don't push it. That is what worked for me. You will do great. I expect a PR from you!
Another PR Nik, that rest done you good mate. You are right on he DU's. I can't think of speed on them, just getting them done. I hope to finins the bench at 225 for 2 teps if I can do it. |

I had the same problem with the double unders, in the 40 & 30 they just battered me and I don't even want to try to figure out the amount of reps I missed, I slowed down for the last two rounds and there was a lot less missing. I have to say it is the 4 days off and backing down on all the heavy extras. Todays bench is the firt heavy extra I have done. I can't keep going like you guys, thje break did wonders.
Have you hit a pb every day since being sick?? It was shocking really. As for close grip bench, I gust figured out today tslking to Scott that I have always benched close. Today is the first time I have benched sence the last time it came up in the WOD, so it is to soon to tell how it will help my presses and HSPU. I'm really hoping it helps both. I need some press strenth, it seems to be a weakness. My max press is 135lbs(61.2k) Not that strong. I got 140 just hovering over my eyes last 1 rep max. With throwing SP's and bench in for the next couple of weeks we will see. I really hope for improvement.
Awesome improvement on the DUs Nik, they seem to be coming together well for you.
Thanks, I was suprised with it. Relaxing and taking my time was the key. I guess you can't always ''Crossfit''bull your way through. |
Re: Nik
Haha you beat me by 5lb on the close grip bench, I missed that. You know I am going to try and beat you back next time now. Good luck with Angie and a half today.

Oh My 14year old Barry did the 10 15 20 version today with out squats (knee problems) jumping pullups in 9:45 He benched up to 100lbs 105 with a spot. |
Re: Nik
Fast work Nik, that was a horrible slog today, my pull ups went down to 2's and 3's by the end with a really strange kip and my hands were very sore.
Tell Barry great work!! thats some strong benching also :pumpkin2: theres your Halloween gift from us a cartoon pumpkin |

I was determined to keep at 5's. I was counting to 5 inbetween on the last round. It was a killer. Right at the tindon at the elbow on my left bicept got REAL sore, it worried me at the 40 or 50 rep mark, but it is good now. Situps on the abmatt are broken, I am starting to notice they are harder then on the floor. I could have taken lass breaks on the floor. I want to not use it, but it is harder so...you know how that goes. How do you find it in comparison? |
Re: Nik
Tell Barry thats cool, hes first present from England!
Not had enough time on the abmat to know, they only have them at the affiliate and its usually only sit ups in the warm up there, mostly barbel and kettlebell work in the WOD. Enjoy your night Nik & Family |
