Fine work Nik, you done the 'hero' workout proud mate. And thanks.
Thanks Scott, I tell you it was touh going. ( I know, it was supose to be) It was so humid here that grip on the deads and MU's were a mess, more on the deads. I had a towl and dried my hands over and over and even switched to mix grip for 2 reps and it just slipped through my haqnds. Last set of deads were rough, it felt like 1 rep max effort. Set, tighten up squeez the bar off the ground and scream it up. I hope your back is ok. You need a rest day, you cot the comp this weekend. I hope they and you get some good videos of it.
:highfive: Nice job!
Thank you , thank you, I try to please. |
Re: Nik
I don't know what's up with my calfs, my left on is still sore I rubbed it most of the night, this morning I was streching and both tried to cramp up on me. I'm drinking plenty of water, but they are a mess.

Its the heat Nik, you probably got a little dehydrated training yesterday and it can take your body a while to get the water back in, just take regular fluids through the day and it will be fine tomorrow, for now though it will probably continue to cramp occasionally. Its a definate message to rest up today, just keep active. |

Not a problem Scott, I drank as much as I could. Still a little crampy, it is odd though. I'm on the water this morning too, I will be till I workout and hope it goes well. I'll have to try a thruster and see if it bothers my calfs, if it does, I'll have to sub again, I already can't run because I have Martin with me, that is fine. I know I'm not running for any other reason. It is just what I have to do to get a/the workout done. But if my calf hurt on the thruster( it will be on the thrust to tip toe thar I will be worried about) then I'll do clean's, they didnt bother me friday when I could hardly walk. We will see. I'm looking forward to it. |
Re: Nik
Get some electrolytes in you.... I've been having trouble with the heat too. Been taking some electrolyte pills (nothing else in them) that I get at the local cycle shop- they are called Hammer Endurolytes.
You can drink a lot of water and be hydrated, but still be low on the sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium and others. |

Re: Nik
Check out this blog entry on working out in the heat. Saw a few things there which I never saw before: http://www.commuterdude.com/2010/06/hot-weather-riding-dressing-prepping.html (WFS)
You're a good guy-we want you to be healthy and stick around... and not pass out and stuff! :p |

Good notes so far on the sighns of over heating. Thank you very much! The heat here is just what he said, hot and crazy humid. |
Re: Nik
Hope you're feeling better.

Re: Nik
Sounds like your getting good advice Nik on the hydration. I've overheated 2x's that I can recall, to the point I was unable to cool down in a reasonable time, and I blame my inablility to perform better in the heat now to that. Kind of funny how my wife told me not to go on that run that one 100 deg day, BUT I didn't listen. If Quinlan is anything like San Antonio, and I'm sure it is, you get hydrated just by breathing the humid air. LOL I feel you bro. we had 3 rain showers today and then the sun came out and it was in the 90s. Be careful.
God Bless, Tony |
