Tonight at BJJ my friend was passing my guard and placed his knee on my thigh. To stop him I tried to push his knee off and pull my leg free.

I felt a series of pops and rips in my groin, about 6 inches down from my pubic bone. I let out a big "[email=Fu@k]Fu@k[/email]" and cluched my leg.

I couldn't even get up for about 20 minutes to get off the mat, just laid there with ice on my groin.

So, any ideas how long the recovery is for a pretty bad groin tear?

It depends on the severity. But in my personal experience they have always taken longer than other strains and pulls. Ice and rest for a few days, then a doctor maybe (if you have insurance use it I always say). FWIW this is just personal experience, I am in no way a medical professional.
