Christin and Chris,

Thank you so much for recovery wishes. I am finally feeling much better. This one seemed to really hang on, and though I didn't get a sick as most people, I felt pretty miserable.

Take care.....

Wow. That's some serious shoveling. In Texas, the only thing we shovel that much of is... well, something else. ;)

Good luck with the job search and have a great time with all your houseguests. Merry Christmas!

One egg? I think the last time I ate a single egg I was probably 3 years old.

If you're full of protein and fat you don't have room for junk. I would suggest dropping grains and sugar all together for a bit and evaluating how you feel.

Hello, Elizabeth!

Calf feels a lot better, though I don't really know what I did to it......sudden overuse, I guess. No more BJs, lately, but I'm going to try in a few days. I'm thinking that I better learn that just because an exercise is fun and feels good, that I can do an unlimited number of reps. That's probably what caused the calf problem in the first place with jumping rope.

Having a blast with company and new snow! Best to you and yours for the holiday also!

Carla,

Thank you so much! She is doing just fantastically!! As a type II diabetic, it just floored the doctor that he was able to remove Chery's brace after only six weeks. He'll evaluate the shoulder in another two weeks and if all is well, she'll being physical therapy. Her range of motion (she's been doing her own set of careful exercises) is just amazing for such a short recovery time.

Best wishes to you and yours for the holidays!

Hi Chuck,

I think you're pretty much right on the money. A small amount of the good fats (olive oil, etc.) is OK as I understand it. I use no sugar except for my coffee and have recently discovered stevia. I'm trying it as a substitute altogether for sugar.

At any rate, I think I'm paying the price for my poor eating and not having worked out for a couple of weeks.........

Thanks again for the support and recommendations! Merry Christmas!

Hi Lee Ann,

Hi, Chuck! Yup, I remember all too well. What is so amazing is that it seems if one can keep whittling away at it, their "shortcomings" get resolved. My shoulders have been so tight and weak and I have come to realize that my lower lats are also weak. Well.........my lower lats now are sore like they never have been and I really am feeling all those PUs in my shoulders.

Yo Robert!

Snow, snow, snow. What, do you live in the mountains or something? HA! The resident forum comedian today! Rock on!

You are absolutely correct on going ahead and doing the WOD, even if sore. My shoulders, biceps, and lower lats are so sore though, I could barely move at times yesterday. Ibuprofen was my best friend........'Course, my grip was fried too, but I didn't realize that until I tried to horse that snowblower around. You have to hold the auger and drive levers down - - there is no lock. Almost needed another person to pry my hands off the machine........Hey, on the good side, I know my WO paid off. I worked the things that needed work. Now to GTG......

Blessings to you and yours!

Hi Helen,

Boy, you've got me there. Is there a difference? :D

I need to go to the gymnastics links on the CF Main Page and look that up. Whichever I am doing, it sure is efficient. I really feel the lack of flexibility in my shoulders and my poor lower lat strength. My biceps also could use work. Funny how you pray for things, then they all of a sudden fall into place (Yea!! Kips!!). Then you "FEEL" your shortcomings. It's like, "Yup, I knew I needed to work on those areas!!
