Nice work Nik and well done for getting through it the sensible way , I left it alone also sensibly
Yea, it was borderline for me, but it was good, I liked it.
Light warm up.

Five rounds for time of:
275 pound Deadlift, 5 reps
10 Burpees

as rx'd

8:18

I like'd this one, I was worried about my back some and the weight, so I took it slow and focused on good form. 275lbs is up there for me. Next time I will know this is doable for me. Some of the stronger people should fly through this one, it was fast.
.
Nice work, Nik. Smart of you to take it slow and steady.

Yes, and more some times, I do skill work and such, things I need to work on I do during my breaks. It's an addiction.

Honestly Scott I think I could have gotten a little more, I almost went back just to see, but I felt like it would have been greed, and pride.

Sometimes its best to walk away with a little in the tank, makes for more confidence next time around. I need to attack these lifts, I worry about dropping the weight and smashing everything too much. Just noticed stars have appeared on my log , yours has them also what does this mean? I have less than you like on the split jerk.

Doing todays ? From the main page comments 6 rounds looks like about the top score so far.

Some one voted on your log, when you look at my log look at the top right and you will see a place to vote click it and you have a scale of what you think of that log or thread.

we have a couple of bumper plates and we can drop or bail out on a lift with out trouble, it comes in real handy.

Re: Nik

Complete as many rounds in twenty minutes as you can of:
Run 400 meters
15 L-Pull-ups
15 Hip Extensions

light warm up

5 rounds and the run, I wanted 6 but that is ok, I pushed for that.

Some Crossfit levels were posted on here once, Patrick & Richard I think and they were levels 1-4. 3 is Advanced and 40 consecutive pull ups was that standard as i remember. Level 4 is 40 deadhang. If you can get 50 chest to bar that is remarkable Nik

We will see. i will video the attempt when I do it. I have a digital camera that also takes video, but I dont know how long it will record, it does have a bigger memory card. But I would hate to get to 45 or so and the it run out of memory!

Pullups were the hard part, Hip ext's were easy, the run is as runs are. Not to bad, but I had to focus on breathing as not to get winded and gasping for air.

I serched for this challenge trhread about 50 chest to bar pullups. Some CF gym posted the challenge that you had to video it and be apart of a CF gym ect ect and i couldn't find it, anybody else here of it?

Re: Nik

Great work on the 40 pullups. That's the next metric on my list.

I don't know about the chest-to-bar challenge, although I do think that 40 chest-to-bar pullups would be a better Elite Standard than 40 deadhang. Here's the wfs thread I started where some of us have been tracking our progress toward the fitness standards. It could use a little more participation from hard chargers like yourself. I've got a few I could probably knock off soon, but for the most part, I've gotten to the point where my next targets are all pretty freaking hard.

50 Back extensions
50 Wall ball shots, 20 pound ball
50 Burpees
50 Double unders

time 29:15

ran mile cool down

You killed it, man. Nice job. You had me on the knees to elbows - bigtime.

Re: Nik

Nice, Nik. I need to get the 50 down in under 30. I always tank at the wall ball/burpee and then trying to apply my meager DU skills while deep in the metcon fog is downright comical. Those last three exercises took me ~15 minutes last time. Hard to get to 30 from there. You done good in my book.

Re: Nik

Get on the roads and hit some 800m Nik its time. Nice work on those KTE's I find them so hard to do quickly as I swing about too much which wastes my grip strength.

Scott, Brady and myself had a great time at GSX!! Vanessa was just as cool as she is on line. Jeff came out to meet us and tell us to pickup the tires faster(first tire flip)We got to talk shop with him and V. for a bit, I got my rear kicked by Vanessa in a GHD race to 50 reps!(Vanessa is strong)

I have muscle ups. I guess our rings are to slick, because I couldn't get one, I have been trying but couldnt do it. I get up to GSX and the rings were taped, I suprised myself with 4, or 5 in a row!! So we will be tapeing the rings and havt to do them for the WOD's

It was a blast, we will be going back up after the holidays.

Brady suprised us with his rope climbs, good equipment makes ALL the difference!!

Re: Nik

Sounds like you all had a blast!! Congrats on getting multiple muscle-ups! You look strong in Vanessa's pics. :)

Re: Nik

"Cindy"
Complete as many rounds in 20 minutes as you can of:
5 Pull-ups
10 Push-ups
15 Squats

Ok, so I did this all wrong... First I didn't have a timer so I just did 20 rounds, that was wat more then 20 min.
I did the workout at home and did the pullups on a rafter in our barn with goats and chickens watching me (yea, really)

Then I did the workout wrong, I did 5 pullups 10 squats, 15 pushups.

So that was a mess, but I did somthing.

Then I cut fire wood.

Carla, thank you on the muscle ups. i didn't look strong when Vanessa schooled me on the ghds!! Ask her what my last 2 or 3 reps were like!!

Scott Jenkins 12-22-2008 01:48 AM

Re: Nik

Congrats on getting your muscle ups Nik, I might start tapin my rings up also sounds like a good idea. Glad you boys had a good time at GSX, I am very jealous, no affiliates anywhere near me.

Re: Nik

Congrats on the MUs, Nik! Looking good in the pics!
Put some tape on the rings which will help with the grip. I was told to use the tape that they use on fishing rods.
