Jacobs ladder

Anybody use this machine before? We got one at my fire station and I tried it the first time for a 5 minute test. Got 451 steps. This thing was humbling . it totally smoked my legs.

I saw one at a gym in Orlando a few months ago. I didn't get a chance to use it but some patrons said it was a "brutal, torture device....."

Sounds right . lol. I would say its like a hybrid of a versaclimber and airdyne. Human powered, the faster you climb the faster and harder it gets. I'm surprised we haven't seen one in the games. It would be a ball buster. They could run it like "1000 ft for time"

I've used it plenty of times at our training facility and I think that it is more of a novelty item than anything. It really does give you a good workout, but it takes up a lot of space, isn't portable and costs around $3,000. I think there's better things to spend ones money on than the ladder.
