Anyone out there eat beans every day? I admit, I love them! I eat almost all varieties. Thing is, it's hard to stop at 1 cup (4 blocks)!!

yup, have a can for lunch with a can of tuna every day! im pretty adament against the whole zone or what have you. i just go for a good balanced diet, 6 meals a day and an appropriate calory load for my goals. stick with fruits, legums, vegies, meats, fish and some milks

I love black and garbanzo beans. I have them quite frequently throughout the week. I just make sure and get the good kinds canned or dry and cook them myself.

I make hummous with it, it's great. Plus it's combining blocks.

There's just a sort of amazing double-meaning in this thread's title . . .

I don't eat beans every day, but often, usually as one element in a multi-item salad. Not all that many beans, though. There are people who assert that there are serious anti-nutrients (lectins?) in them (and in other legumes), which can be reduced by rinsing the beans first.

Beyond that, I don't know enough to have an opinion.

I started eating shelled edamame from Trader Joe's and using it as a combined block in salads and stir fry, and I think they taste wonderful and have had no side effects whatsoever. (Firm believer that stir fry is an awesome way to go as far as eating in the Zone.)

They go wonderful with fruit in salad (asian pears and edamame with salmon...gooooooood). I am lucky in that I live near a county in California well known for its farmer's markets so I get fresh produce all the time and get a large variety of fruits and vegetables throughout the year.
