Not 50 yet, "just" 47.

But I wanted to chime in here quickly and wish JT good luck at the competition.

And to everyone else, thanks for continuing to provide motivation. I look forward to posting here in 2018. :)

Good luck JT!

Tuesday:
Clean & Jerk - kg: 40x3, 60x2, 70x2, 75, 80, 82 (181lbs)
DL - kg: 110x3, 130x3, 150x3, 170 (375lbs)

Kind of jumped the shark for 2 reasons...1) I had an appointment with the hip clinic the next day (more on that in a bit) so I figured "What the hell might as well pick up some heavy crap". 2) I just finished building an Olympic lifting platform that turned out much nicer than I had anticipated so it just HAD to be used. It was a moral imperative.

And now for the hip.....
Turns out the GP was right. The main groin problem is a torn Adductor that did not quite detach. Unfortunately there is not much they can do for it other than Cortisone or cut it the rest of the way. The hip labrum is torn but that is secondary and I have enough degeneration to be a good candidate for a hip replacement if I was older.

So the long and short of it is, it might work itself out, it might just perpetually hurt, or it might just tear the rest of the way, in which case they can do absolutely nothing. According to the Dr. and a second source (an old gf that is a PTD...she was HOT by the way...parent were from South America and she just had the nicest...oh yea the hip sorry) if it goes it will hurt really bad for a few days, my leg will turn dark purple, but after that it will be fine. It will weaken but eventually some of the other muscles will compensate some. (Her dad used to point at me and yell in Spanish all the time, I had no idea what he was saying but it must not have been good. )

My plan is to work around it. I have some old PL gear like some oversized squat suits and a set of Inzer Power pants, and some Rehband neoprene. I should be able to keep it together. You know it is kind of neat because the original use of the squat suit was exactly that, to help with groin and hip injuries. It wasn't until later when people figured out you could lift more with them that it got stupid.

Snatch - kg 40x2, 50x2, 55,60,63 (139#)
3 RFT (5:04)
50 single – unders
5 ring – dips

So that would have given me a 145kg total for the lift-off (320#) 5th out of 12 in the masters scaled for my weight class like 51'st overall for masters in my class. I'll do the scaled workout next just to see how bad it is....

Andrew - Sorry to hear about the hip. Glad that it doesn't sound worse. I hurt my self back squatting & turned black & blue in places I NEVER thought I would! (The gf part was good!! ;)) Hope you get better soon! BTW, Nice WODs!

Re: Over 50 Crossfitters Sign In

7 min AMRAP (43kg)
3 Snatch
6 Clean/Jerk
9 Pull-ups
54 single-unders

133 reps.

This was an accidental shortened version of the scaled lift-off WOD. I screwed up setting the timer I use. So anyway I didn't die and still had some more in the tank. I'll try it for the 12 minutes some day and aim for 3+ rounds.

Thursday November 12, 2015
Flew to Savannah, walked a couple miles through various airports.

Friday November 13, 2015
Snatched 70, 75, 78
C&J 95, 104, 107
Total = 185kg = American Champion and 2016 World Championship Qualifier

It's nice to win, even though I feel like I was in a couple of car wrecks.
