Is there language in the current ruleboook that allows for major or minor penalties to be applied on non video submissions at this stage of the open?
I don't know, but it may be that they've decided to treat the open announcement like a video submission. It actually is a pretty smart idea to do that. If I was the affiliate owner, I wouldn't have validated the score had I seen the no reps anyway.

It's a shame it was missed at all. If any judge should catch that it's Boz.

Guess that they had too many technical difficulties and are extending the registration by one day. How many peeps are going to re do this knowing they have one more day. I try to get out and they keep pulling me in right?

It would have been good to know because i would have given it a third try this morning, so for some people this will be an advantage.

Now the thing is that CFHQ has had a year to get this in place... so why the hell didn't they have this tested months ago before they released it.

If you have experienced coders that really know how to handle the data repository and ensure basic functionality, which is the most important, should actually working when the time comes for The Open this would never had happened. They never pressure tested it under load. I mean you have your web browsers/ipads/tablets and mobile devices that all require different interfaces and put different loads on application.... I have no idea, but they should have redundancy built into the solution with specific alarms that warn for this type of thing and then have a backup plan. Now due to the fact that the new face lifted version is not working they could have rolled back to the old version of entering scores and validation while the techs are working to fix the new version in the backend.

This does not look good for Crossfit at all, this is a big letdown. They had no back up, no plan if the **** should hit the fan and did not notify the athletes of the change. For us that were sleeping when this was announced missed the chance of a repeat.

Castro and company must be fuming.....

added:
Just checked the leaderboard and i can find myself in Europe for 45-49 but i am not in the worldwide leaderboard.... you can't even search for an Athlete... they have big problems and someone is going to get fired....

They were supposed to have a new app this year.

They don't even have all the functionality on the new site that the old site did, I can't look up my old Open scores by clicking on my profile, for example.

The site has been a mess since the announcement, going down on and off all weekend.

They told people originally to just email their scores to support@crossfitgames.com before extending the deadline. I assume they got thousands of emails and freaked.

Their communication has been poor the entire time. Posting on Twitter, FB, etc. They have all our emails, you think they'd send out communications.

They made $6,500,000 off the Open in 2016 and had all year to get the new app and a functioning/stress tested site up, this is a huge fail.

On top of all that, they are trolling people hard on social media who are complaining about the issues. Don't get me wrong, it's funny. But in this instance, they should probably be a little more apologetic and kind.

I wouldn't get my panties in a bunch about this. I'm guessing no one on this board has created a website that will eventually have over 1.5 million unique data points all entered by different users. There's bound to be some issues. It's a bit more cumbersome than previous versions but that is the same complaint you always here when any site changes their layout.

As far as having the extension favouring some athletes, everyone thought they had 4 days to do the workout and now everyone has 5 days. How you decide to schedule your workouts is up to you. I'm guessing that no one shooting for the Games is overly concerned. Those who have an issue with this dropping them from 84583rd place to 84592nd place don't get the spirit of the open.

I had an issue submitting my score, sent them an email and got a response. With the storm going on right now I thought that was pretty good communication.

This feels like week 1 2011 all over again, just this time instead of 26,000 people they have well over ten times that many, which is what they wanted........

Hey Jason, that's what I thought of as well. Let's hope this doesn't stretch to 7 weeks!

Just saw that Chandler Smith lost part of his ring finger after a piece of armor felll off a tank and smashed the tip off. Was looking forward to seeing him compete this year.
