A few weeks ago, I'm about to start lifting in the fitness room of my building. I slide some plates on, and the chipping chrome on the ancient bar slices my palm. Not too severe an injury, but I did let my doc re-up my tetanus shot. I healed within a week and thought no more of it. But hubby suggested I notify building management.

I did, and since I'm not looking to sue, but rather to make the room safer for all, they're allowing me to submit to the board a budget for all the stuff I think we should have. Camoflagable (is that a word?) stuff. I have gotten down new Olympic bars, bumper plates- they protect the floors, and a new captain's chair/pull-ups dips station.
I've got a day to write up my report of what we should get.

Suggest away!

C2 rower, medicine balls, dip/ pullup station.

I'm sure others more knowledgable will offer more.

Rings - maybe you can disguise them as stretching equipment ... ;-) ... so cheap compared to bumpers and oly bars ... ah, and yes, self-built lifting platform, of course ...

I assume they've already got a decent range of dumbbells?

Push up handles
Skipping Rope

Though from my experience it's better to focus on the more expensive stuff. That's usually where management types balk when they see a barbell for say $150 and $600 for plates.

I have the same type of meeting next Wednesday at work. Post up how your's went, might be some helpful ammo to use to get equipment.

They've already got 2 model B or C C2 rowers. We're getting all new rubber DBs because the ones there are rusted and have holes(!) through many of them.

I don't know if med balls will fly because they're perhaps easy to steal... But I can try that.

Jamila, how did management respond to your report?
