NO, my feet were on the ground hands in the rings. I wish I could do 30 seconds. I can only mannage a couple of seconds on the rings, now that Bradymade the paralletes, we will see what I can build up to.

I like the planche work I am going to have to try that. I am trying to be strict about getting to bed before 11:00 seeing that it is a wee bit later than that... TTFN.

Re: Nik

Hey Nik, its ok if you just bull your way through workouts and not have such a thorough strategy to them like Scott and many others do. I tend to do a little bit of both. In some wods i can figure out how long one round might take me depending on the exercises and on some wods i don't even bother thinking of it because of the combination of movements it has. I think the important thing is to go all out either way but also know how to ease up just enough to be efficient and not burn out halfway through.

Don't beat yourself up about it. Just try picturing yourself doing the workout before you actually do it to have somewhat of an idea on how to beat it.

Thanks Ernie, even if I look at the clock to see what time the round took, I forget it as soon as I look away, I just dont retain it during the workout. It is amazing to know someone can think and calculate during a workout, I only thing about trying to keep going andf not hurt myself. I'm very simple in a workout, not by choice, but by nature.

95 pound Hang Powercleans, 7 reps
95 pound Sumo Deadlift High-pull, 10 reps

CFWU x 3 no weight, reworking form.

8 rounds at 19:50, couldn't get the bar up off the ground for a thruster.

That was tough!

Thats a massive improvement Nik, well over a round quicker than in October, I think having that score to beat pushed you on.

Yes that was it exactly. It is so hot here, in the 100's it was tough to keep going, all the thrusters and cleans up broken, first and 6th round of sumos unbroken.

But like you said, I new what I did last time, and I had the stop watch right infront of me, so I almost was like you on watching rounds and time. It was more like knowing how much time I had left and how many rounds I needed.

And I didn't use the rack to rest the weight on, so I wasnt putting the bar all the way on the ground during the thrusters. I probably would have if i had the rack in front of me. Same with the cleans.

Thanks Bud, it was tough like they all are, the sumo's are the key. Use the hook grip, it helps.

Two rounds of:
Right arm barbell push-press 12 reps
Left arm deadlift 12 reps
Run 800 meters
Left arm barbell push-press 12 reps
Right arm deadlift 12 reps
Run 800 meter

push press 60lbs
deadlift 95lbs
time 29:51

the runs killed me. This heat is killing me. Last run was nothing more than a glorified high stepping walk. If this heat continues like it is, all my runs and workouts will be suffering. There is real world application for you. We will see how it goes.

Anyway what a ballence exercize. I remember one PP where I caught it at the top on one leg and the other leg was out for ballence, only when I brought the weight down did my leg come back down.

Oh hook grip was key on the deads. Couldn't have done it with out it.

Re: Nik

 Glorified High Stepping Walk, was your arms still pumping hard Nik, that tickled me. Great work on getting the 2 ROUNDS done. Sounds also like a form of Olympic Karate lifting with the leg movements.

:yeahthat:

I would love to have witnessed that WOD! Love all the balance work. We are having the hottest Texas summer that I can remember. Good job at keeping a run going, even if it's a "glorified high stepping walk" - I know how bad that feels right now. :notworth:

Thanks, But yea, I tried not to stop running, it was tough in this heat. But I kept moving. And hey after that workout I figured uot that if I'm walking in a forrest with 60lbs trees and I'm carring a pint in one hand and the trees start falling I can PP the drees and not have to put my pint down!

Re: Nik

"CrossFit Total"

Back squat, 1 rep
Shoulder Press, 1 rep
Deadlift, 1 rep

Squats 275lbs
SP 135lbs
Deadlift 275

Man what a wierd workout. I didn't get much sleep, my son has really bad alergies and didnt sleep. I feel rough, my alergies are bad, face is puffy. No energy.

So I go back to total, wondering if I'll even do it. I didnt have the mental readyness as usual. I was wearing the wrong shorts to be squating and deadlifting in. They were getting tight at the bottom. So I only mached my last squat weight, I could have done more, but didnt.
SP I last time got 120, or 125. gouldn't get 135 past my head, just hovered there. Today, shoved it up nice and steady, kind of easy.

Deads were the same as squats, I just wanted to match last lift, couldnt get higher, but tried.

Good inspite of myself.

Love the image of the high stepping walk. You're a tough man to keep going in that heat and do some ballet to boot! :smiley_ev

It was cut short, I only had time for a WALL hand stand for 1:20.

Re: Nik

Got some good info and training on clean and jerks. Turnes out I was/am cutting my drive short and not completly opening my hips and the jump.
We did a really light ''Grace'' 20k bar. and pounded ot rep after rep. I know i ended up doing 40 or 50 reps to get the form down.

And oh yea, Tuesdays WOD, more running..... REALLY?!?!?!?:ranting2:

10:00 break,

well I built my 2 pood bar. curl bar with 5 plates on it to 72and 1/2 lbs. it will hold with the rope I put on it. I can get it up high enough, it will be a slowish calculated swing. It is a lot of weight.
I see pullups suffering today.

lmao thats freaking awesome Nik!!! Wish i had one of those at home. Good luck on eva buddy, you can handle it as long as you use a lot more leg/hip power than shoulders.

Re: Nik

"Eva"

Five rounds for time of:
Run 800 meters
2 pood Kettlebell swing, 30 reps
30 Pull-ups

time was 56:34

I had to scale after the third round, the ''KB'' was pulling my chest down and over the top, I couldnt keep upright, I dropper 10lbs after the first 10 reps on round 4, then dropped 5lbs after reps 20 on round 4. Finished with 57 and 1/2lbs.

Oh forst 30 pullups on rings, second round alternating from pullup bar to rings 10 bar, 10 rings.10 bar. Brady and I had to go at the same times. So I used both.

I did my best, but had to scale for form. Yea, we rig where we have to, but it gets the job done. I like it it makes me laugh, we call it ''Rocky'' style!!
