No we will see about it, qualify or not, whether you do the workouts as rx'd or not, its worth going and being involved for the experience if nothing else. You'll love it.

And anyway with those numbers you definitely won't be showing yourself up.

Yea, in some areas I'm good, but I could have by no means cleaned and jerked what you guys were at your qualifier. I agree, next year, I'm in for the fun, but I want to win.

Re: Nik

well I tried to do hspu's to the qualifier standard(hand at shoulder width)
and got 5 reps, I did 10 negitives after that because i wasnt giving up at 5 reps.
That is a hard standard, but if that is where it is then that is where I will get them. I can do more at a wider stance, but I'm going for the standard from now on.

Oh, a buddy wanted to bench, so we kind of maxed, We stoped at 220lbs. I had more.

Massive difference with the SP width hands, I also benched thats a coincidence Nik, probably get better weights when we have not HSPU'd beforehand.

I wouldn't worry about it Nik, just try to do a few everyday during your warm up and then ever few weeks go for 30 or so and you'll be destroying us in no time!

Four rounds, each for time of:
800 meter run

Rest as needed between efforts.

3:11
3:32
3:35
3:36

3 to 4 min rests.

then right after the run on the track.

150 Push Ups

*Everytime you stop and rest with your chest on the ground this constitutes a penalty. If a penalty is counted, you must immediately sprint 40 yards. Once the penalty is completed continue with the push ups.

*You can rest in a pike position (the top of a push up) but once you can not do push ups any longer and need to rest on the ground, a penalty is counted and a 40 yard sprint must be completed.

Time 8:51

12 penaltys (480m)

Re: Nik

Really strong back squats there Nik, I was feeling weak on them yesterday so did not push it. I still have not managed a bar rollout from my feet, I just collapse like I have no spine.

We will be ready for tomorrows cycle now, I expect some big long metcons on this trio.

I have a great use for your extra eggs, Hollie made some fantastic cakes yesterday, greatest thing I have ever tasted. Just get yourself some Almond flour, sultanas, banana, olive oil and of course eggs, mix it all up and whack it in the oven, trust me you will not regret it, I need to do extra running to keep the weight off as I cannot stop eating them.

Nice run and back squat strength Nik! Nice to see those numbers keep rising on the lower back man! No pain too, well done!

I'll have to give that cake a try.

I expect some heavy long metcons also. I like'd the runs this time. Usually I'm mad that is is runs, but it was a good round.

I was lucky, sometimes my back says no, but this time it felt really solid. I went at it with thwe idea that if my back was sore, I would pick a weight I could do 5 sets at and keep it at that. But it was a good set. I did it bare foot, I don't know if that made a difference, it was thwe first time with out shoes.

Thank you, I really want to get good form down, I understand how good form will win over strenth at my weight. I have to have good form to beable to pull with the big guys, I just don't have the torque....yet.

Right.

morning core.
50 back ext 40 lbs
50 situps 40 lbs
10 rollouts on knees.

Nik Nichols 05-12-2009 08:18 AM

Re: Nik

10:00 break
30seconds ring plank front side side 1 round(tough today)
ohs 85lbs 3 sets 10
3 sets 10 power clean 85lbs
1 squat clean for fun 85lbs.

I'm warming up for todays WOD.

Nik Nichols 05-12-2009 11:09 AM

Re: Nik

Power clean 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps

1. 135lbs
2. 145
3. 155
4. 165
5. 175
6. 180F
7. 180F

last time
1. 135
2. 145
3. 155
4. 165
5. 170
6. 175
7. 180 F

so I attempted 180lbs about 15 time, I was determined to get it, but I couldn't. I had it chest high, and didn't stick my elbows up, total mental break down. I had the strenth, not the skill of mind.

Ernie, you have all the room in the world.
