You got this done early Nik, you could almost call it: Bodyweight Squat Clean & Jerk x 30, good work mate, I could not complete this with 190lb no way.
Thanks. I was mad at todays workout at first and thought''Man, I'm not doing that.'' But it looks fun IF I can get the HSPU done. On the demo for today they were useing there feet to climb the straps for the HSPU, That is what I'll be tring.

Nik Nichols 11-01-2010 08:26 AM

Re: Nik

10:00 break

set up rings for the HSPU and tried to climb my way into one.

I tried ot with my shoues on and slipped on the straps. Took my shoes off and slipped on my socks.
Took my socks off and I was able to climb up the straps and got one. And I got a bloody nose from it too. Woohoo, stuped alergies.

Looks like I'm on for the workout as Long as I can transition to the inverted pard for the handstand.

Nik Nichols 11-01-2010 11:19 AM

Re: Nik

Five rounds for time of:
3 Muscle-up Handstand push-ups
10 Burpee pull-ups

Ideally, the pull-up bar is one foot above your reach. If you cannot do the muscle-up handstand push-ups, do 7 muscle-ups and 12 handstand push-ups each round.

SUB SUB DNF

3 rounds in 31:32 and My lunch hour was over.

I tried the MURHSPU and couldnt transition from the top of the MU to the inverted part of the HSPU. So I had to stop after 5or6 tries. SO I went to the sub of 7MU 12HSPU's

I was stuck on the MU's and down to singles and a bunch of misses. Mentally had me down. HSPU's I was falling off the ''pole I was using. I had to change that too.

So I figured out the problem on the MU's I had so much slack on it I couldn't hit the transition, I'd fall out. So I shortened the straps and good to go. HSPU's outside on the wall got better.

Only good point were the burpee pullups on the forklift. I got into a cool rythum on them and they were fun.

I have no excuse for today. it was terreble, I don't remember not finishing a workout so that was insult to injury. Two bad workouts in a rowe now. So tomorrow will be good.

Ernie Guevara 11-01-2010 01:01 PM

Re: Nik

Great job trying to get it done rxd nik! The transition from muscle up to handstand has got to be very hard to stabilize. Major props for a valid attempt bud!:highfive:

Jay Rhodes 11-01-2010 01:28 PM

Re: Nik

I just did this one, hit one rep to make sure I could do it then went for it.
Transition is by FAR the hardest part. When I failed that is where I was failing every time.

Scott Jenkins 11-01-2010 01:52 PM

Re: Nik

You tried to hit the workout as rxd NIk, its probably only 99.9% of crossfitters than could complete that and I tell you something for sure, all those guys on main page got tipped off that this movement was coming and practised it. Great work Nik and expect some big things tomorrow on super pr day.

Re: Nik

I took one look at this WOD, snorted a little, and picked a WOD I'd missed from the last week, because it happened on my rest day. No f**king way. Good on you for even making the attempt, and getting through the subs, seriously. The next workout will be better. Isn't that what you'd tell me if I couldn't do a WOD????

Edited to add - Scott, I think you mean probably 99.9% of Crossfitters COULDN'T complete that? Lord I hope that's what you meant!

Thabnks Everyone for the positive support. It is tough some times to have a crappy set of workouts and try to be positive. I tried to not let yesterday bother me. Like I tell eveyone else. It is what it is. There is nothing to do now but look forward.

I'm a little late getting on line today with some car trouble.

No warmup either.

Hey Nik, if you have no time to warm up , you have no time to train, dont rush into anything cold.

Looking forward to seeing you hit up a PR on Barbara today, quickest round and overall time!
