Glad to hear you can get back on it Steve...now GET ON IT!!
Thank you, Aush! This cold seems to be trying to hang on like a kitten on a new set of drapes.......but it feels wonderful (until I end up hacking like an old chain smoker) to be getting back into it! |

Getting the timing, the actual "jump" technique, and movement of the wrists down are simply crazy concepts I just can't seem to master.......yet. Probably just like my kipping, it'll just click someday soon. While I am at times a klutz, I still am reasonably coordinated (or at least I thought I was). BTW, I didn't know a person could experience DOMS from jumping rope. OUCH! Calves, hammies, and insides of my elbows were NOT happy with me today. Throw in the thrusters and SDHPs we did for our WOD today and my whole body is rebelling..... |

Warm-up: CFWU Skill Work: Rope climbing basics. Grip was shot - - almost got to the top......almost, started to lose my grip and chickened out........BLEH! WOD: For time: 100m run 21 Thrusters 85#/55# (used 65#) 21 SDHP 100m run 15 Thrusters 15 SDHP 100m run 9 Thrusters 9 SDHP 100m run Time: 11:26 Glad I scaled this one back a bit. Legs felt like rubber and didn't want to work when I tried to run......Really glad I pushed through this WOD. It was fun in a perverse (yay, CF) sort of way and will be fun to do again when I'm back up to snuff. |

Welcome back!
Thanks, Justin. Yeah....it sucked all right. This will be fun to try when I've got my "WOD feet" back under me! 100319 FRIDAY Warm-up: 1 mile run (this felt good - - especially helped loosen up everything - - DOMS is STILL hanging on) 25 DROM 25 SPTs 10 Pull-ups 10 Ring Dips (jumping, negative decents) 10 Back Ext 10 HSPU (subbed regular push-ups) WOD: "Annie" 50 - 40 - 30 - 20 - 10 of Double Unders Sit-ups. (If you sub single unders, do 3:1 of singles vs. DUs). For each miss, stop and do five burpees). Time: 15:10 Rx'd Lots of single DUs, but managed to chain two in a row in about of third of them! All situps unbroken except in Rd. #3 (stopped once). |
Re: Steve's "I'm not aging quietly" log
Hey Steve! Sucks to see your still fighting off DOMS, but Annie has always been one of my favorite WODs to looosen up all that tightness.
And that thruster/SDHP madness with the sprinting sounds fun....as in evil fun. ;) |

You would think I'd have learned in a year of CF not to ever do 50 minutes (even with breaks) of jump rope work the day before a Thruster/SDHP WOD!:rofl: Forgot to mention we did a quick Tabata (Mountain Climbers) after the WOD today. My score: 11 (legs kept trying to cramp) |
