Re: Nik
Great to see you back hitting main site Nik and taking all the right precautions with the water etc. Fast first run also, good work. I thought it would be 5-7 runs and without the cramp you might of had 7.
Im feeling good for tomorrow, I really want it and I am gonna do everythinig possible to give myself a shot at winning. There's an over 38's class which I am not entering , decided on the open class, no way are they putting us in with the oldies mate.... not until I am at least 60 anyways.
Thanks Scott, it was fun, breathy, but fun. I can't wait to hear how it goes this weekend for you. I hopeit all goes in your favor. |

Deadlift 1-10-1-20-1-30 reps
Post total load (add up all six barbell loads) to comments. 1rep 325lbs 10reps 255lbs 1rep 305lbs 20reps 225lbs 1rep 305lbs 30reps 205 total of the 6 bars was 1620lbs That was a blast. ALL reps reset no bouncing reps onj the multipul reps I didn't let go I just opened my hands and regripped and go. After all the multiple reps I was dizzy even though I was breathing as much as possible and had a momentary head ache. But that was a BLAST!! Back feels fine. |
Re: Nik
Nice weights Nik!
I just had a look back through my log, I remembered this one from back in November. I did 225 for 20 and only 185 for 30, and set a 1RM PR at 385 on the last set. You're pulling some good weights in high numbers! How was 325?? |
Re: Nik
Awesome weight on the deads nik. Good to see your back handled it nicely.

I was glad to be sweaty because it helped the bar slide up.
Awesome weight on the deads nik. It was well worth the extra effort. |

Re: Nik
CF Manchester Invitational
Workout 1 90 second AMRAP: Deadlift 80/100 or 120k as many reps Choose your bar and your score is total kilo's. I chose 100k and hit 46 reps, stopped with 10 seconds to go as it was straight into WOD 2 no break. I got 36 touch n go then 4 and then re-gripped for the last 6. Score - 4600K - Position 3rd - zero back problems Workout 2 Straight from WOD 1 no break 2 x 20k KB's 10 x Squats 10 x Thrusters 10 x Push Press 10 x Lunges 50m Farmers Walk - 18.42 - Position 6th Hard , horrible workout, felt a lot of pain for a long time, the cutoff was at 21.30 (including the 90secs from the deadlifts), not many made it under the time and I was glad to be amongst them, very glad when that killer was finished. Currently overall Joint 3rd. Workout 3 - Cinderella 10 min AMRAP: 5 Chest to bar Pull ups 10 Push Ups 15 Squats - 11R, 5PU, 10PU, 4SQ - Position 3rd Real strict judging and my deepest squats ever, have to keep them like that, only the push ups broken, the rest done in one consecutive. Looking at the board afterwards I noticed I was now in 1st position with 12 points, 2nd place was 15 points and third 17. This was done by adding up your placings, lowest score wins. All of a sudden I realised for the first time I could actually win this thing. My stomach knotted and I got the shakes, people could see in my face I was wound up and I spent the next two hours in and out of the toilet... then the workout 4 was announced. Workout 4 - Only to 20 went through to this nastiness. Load Prowler with 2 x 20k plates Push Prowler up and back 50m total Take 20k plates off and run them 50m Load a bar with 40k total 10 x Overhead Squats 10 x Thrusters 10 x shoulder to overhead 10 x Front squat Load Prowler with plates Push last 50m to finish. They set it up so that there was 2 heats of 8 guys (19-12 & 11-4) then they put the 3 leaders in on there own to finish. This was my heat and it made the pressure even more so, luckily by now all the guys had picked me up and sorted my head out. I think it was fozzy or maybe Matt Green who said what would you mates Nik & Ernie tell you right now!!! Sort your head out and go win it Scott. Was up for it from then. The workout did not scare me anymore, I knew what it would do to me but what the hell I was going to welcome that pain and embrace it (getting a bit over emotional here but thats how it was). Went off fast but controlled and kept just behind the other two guys for the first prowler and plate carry then into the OH squats we started to spread out. Andy went ahead and I took second, about 5 reps adrift, he got to the prowler for the last 50m about 15 seconds before and was about 20m ahead. I put my head down and went and went until I suddenly see the 25m turn and he was slowing, big time, got ahead and pushed to the line to win. This placed me 3rd again overall on the workout which gave me a finishing score of 15. My time was 4.18. Hey enough of the dramatic but this is my log and I need to remember my best moment of CF so far. Never pushed so hard , not ever nearly as I did on that last workout, at the end my hands and face went green coloured and I lost the use of my legs temporarily. The guys picked me up and helped me along and were all brilliant as usual. Also found a new place in pain management. The last 20m the pain and breathlessness went away for about 20 seconds, like really really weird , my legs had no choice but to keep pushing as there was no choice, I had to win, any other option did not exist I just had to win. Big thanks for my breakfast also to Matt Green for a fine Almond Cake, Fozzy and Fergus for carrying me when I was unable to walk, training partner and cool head man Matt Williams , the brilliant organisation all day by Dom & Simon and everybody else. Edit: Oh yes forgot to say, I finished 1st. Video coming of event 4 soon , I havent seen it yet either THIS IS FROM MY LOG NIK, ITS BEEN BUSY SO YOU MUST OF MISSED IT. |
