And why did Camille drop off so much ? champion to not even Top 10
I would say it's because she isn't well rounded enough and there wasn't much that fit her wheelhouse. I mean did individuals use the rings at all this year?

My question is what would have the outcome been (particularly for the women) if they decided to do Murph at a safe time of the day instead of the hottest part of the day. Seemed like lots of the women were suffering from that all weekend.

Also, I think it the future, they should have a drink station on the stadium run. I get that it's not a terribly long run, but when you are doing it a bunch of times and if it was as hot as they say it was, it seems like they should be doing everything they can to ensure the safety and highest performance possible by these athletes instead of having to carry them off on stretchers.

*Edit, random note, going into the final event the announcers made it sound like Mayhem was down a point or two, when in reality I think they were down 20, curious if the teams had any idea of this because if Milford could have got a place or two higher they would have sealed the deal. Watching it live I thought it was pretty much winner take all between the two teams.
I was thinking the exact same thing. I realize it should be 100% till the end, but if you think the only competition is Mayhem, and Mayhem pulls ahead it can be debilitating. I think I counted 4 no reps for Milford after Mayhem was clearly in front. Turns out Milford just needed to finish 1 place higher. It is what it is, but if you want to make for more exciting television it should be made clear what has to happen. How dissapointed would Mayhem have been if Milford came in 7th in that final event and found out later on that Milford won the whole thing?

Anyways - congrats to Milford, they were awesome all weekend. I was proud to cheer for my home state and some fellow Eastern CT alums.

Interesting games this year. I think it was more "who could survive". Glad to see Ben Smith win, but would rather Matty won since he is a Nike guy. I have NO problem seeing Katrin win since she is a very gifted athlete, and from Iceland (I like Iceland girls).

As for the controversy of the peg board.... I don't think it was great to have it in the final, too much attention for the outcome of people standing and looking at it on live TV. Maybe earlier in the weekend, sure, good workout. Obviously Dave didn't count on people just blowing it off completely. I know I wouldn't have either though.

Murph may have been a bit much with the heat apparently, but dang it was interesting wasn't it?

I'm kind of over the ocean thing honestly. I get the fitness aspect of it, but A) it's predictable now, and B) there are plenty of other ways to test fitness also.

Fan voting for Double DT or Heavy DT. Brilliant. Either way, GREAT wod, way to get the fans involved.

Triangle Couplet, good but I think maybe after Heavy DT, they should have lightened it up and made a good old fashion sprint wod like Fran, less than 5 minutes, and just all out the whole time. Mind you this coming from a guy who LOVES heavy wods.

Midline Madness, love it. Maybe next time do farmer carries instead, or worked in with it. Maybe my favorite event next to the 1RM c&j.

Also (maybe, but not necessarily related to my previous post), there was carnage at the games this year.

4 men withdrew (Kevin Simons, Joe Scali, Neil Maddox and Chad McKay)
3 women (Annie T, Maddy Myers, Dani Horan athough she didn't start)
1 team (I think Norcal had the only injury, but correct me if I'm wrong)

Do you think Castro and/or other Games planners will take those injuries into consideration for next year or will events keep getting heavier, longer, hotter, etc?

Without a doubt they will. They take feedback after every year. I can promise you they are already thinking up workouts for next year, and how it will play out.

It did seem like Survivor: Crossfit Edition this year.

Interesting post this morning on redit, mostly wfs except for some language:
Did you mean Elija Muhammad (sp)? If you did mean Maddox then that means this actually happened twice
I didn't see Elijah Muhammad's heat, but Maddox also dropped the bar on his head. You don't see Maddox's failed rep during the heat, but they showed it in replay after the heat was over.
There was a drink station on the murph run. They were handing water bottles to people as they started the run, and then there was a table with water just before the turnaround.
For sure they did, but I'm thinking they should have one in the soccer arena runs, particularly when they are doing multiple 600m runs in an event in the middle of the afternoon.
Armchair CrossFitters unite!

I went back and scored those of us who gave predictions. I gave one point for each correct athlete in the top three. I gave five points for correct placement of each athlete (though none of us guessed correct placement for any athlete).

3 points
Mario Beltran (Guessed Fraser, Smith and Sara Sigmundsdottir)
Jayme Gruber (Guessed Fraser, Smith and Sigmundsdottir)

2 points
Jon Campbell
Michael Cook
Ludovic Deguy
Troy Kennedy

1 point
Jason Fischer
Chris Morris
Miles Roberts

Nobody guessed Tia-Clair Toomey. Who would guess a rookie? In CrossFit competition, we've got to give them some more credit.

The Europeans are doing well this year in competition.
I had Mayhem and Ute as well, give me all the points!
