I've heard this word a bunch of times and never did I stop to ask more about it. Which WOD are metcon? And what does a Metcon WOD entail. Thanks!

The way I understand it, metcon stuff would be anything that is "sprint interval" and anaerobic, high intensity, and uses as much as possible of the whole body. So, yes, a lot of the WODs do focus on metcon, but there are lots that don't. Think of the max effort days, like 060603 (Back Squat 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps).

Is there a CFJ that deals with metcon?

Also, one that deals with designing your own routines?

thanks

I don't have it myself, but judging from the the title list on the FAQ page, I think the Journal from June 2003 might be helpful.

"metCon" is just the cool kids' abbreviation for Metabolic Conditioning. metCon is any CF WOD other than strength focus days--development of endurance and stamina--essentially anything that creates a continuing oxygen deficit, generates lactic acid, makes you want to vomit bile, or a combination thereof.
