How can someone with a high metabolism gain strength and size with caloric restriction? As much as I understand the benefits of the Paleo Diet I am afraid to risk my size and strength to fully commit to it. Any input?
My understanding of it is this: follow a zone-esque adiet w/regards to protein and carbs but add fat to a level which supports performance and strength/muscle gains but NOT body fat increases. See the foundations page for more details and my question to coach regarding caloric restriction in the nutrition section. the theory here is that if on optimizes hormonal profile from diet and exercise a level of caloric restriction can be achieved while still progressing. Use performance as you main measure. have you read the articles at www.girevikmagazine.com on CRAN and also the interview of Art Devany? These will help.
