Yea, I am 30# off body weight. Time to start gaining strength by hook or crook! I am glad your back is better. Are you going to go play at the qualifiers?

I don't know, I need to see if there is a slot left. Like Scott said, it will be good no matter what happens.

Oh yea, when it was posted that last years games were C2B I have been doing them as best as I can, not always C2B, but really darn close!!

I'll probably mess aroud on the first rounds with different grips, inverted grip close, wide, till it gets to to many and them the kip will take over, but with C2B.

Re: Nik

warm up was 20 ghd's
ring stuff, back lever ect, air squats.

With a continuously running clock do one pull-up the first minute, two pull-ups the second minute, three pull-ups the third minute... continuing as long as you are able.

17rounds 14 pullups

rounds 1 throught 6 were dead hang
first 14 rounds were strict C2B
15'th round started to drop on a couple
16 on were broken sets.

Nik Nichols 02-18-2009 02:14 PM

Re: Nik

Wow. That's very impressive on the pullup ladder! And the front squats actually!

Re: Nik

Great work on the pull up ladder, its so much harder going C2B than the normal standard kip, my pr for that is 20 rounds and doing it C2B I was under 15 rounds, big difference. Good to see you squating also, back must be strong again.

Thanks Scott, I wentfor as far as I could on the C2B, but still had some fight left, I just wanted to kill myself.

Back is really good, but after all I am analizing my pains and I think I can feel the arthritus, I'm not sure, I don't know what it is supose to feel like, but it is not muscle pain.
I am right now taking hurbal supliments to fight it. I am taking Hydrangea root tablets(yes from the flower) to hopefully get rid of the spuring, and this other stuff for the pain that my mum and wife's mum is taking, we will see. But it is all natural supliments so I'm ok, and the pain is light and annoying when i get it, i am just trying to do somthing for it now.

Strong ladder Nik.

Get ready for an *** kicking with the handstand push-ups, on 3-4 reps I was just stuck on my head and couldn't push myself up ! :D

Thanks Camille!! I like front squats, they help my back feel better when I'm a little sore.

Re: Nik

For time:
50 Ring Dips
Run 400 meters
50 Push-ups
Run 400 meters
50 Handstand push-ups
Run 400 meters

hand stand pushups were imposible, I fgot through the first ten and fell on my head, I couldn't get back off the ground. So I wwent to heels hooked off the squat rack and bar, still ended up dropping on my head and then pushing off from my head. It was brutal!!

time was 17:11

hey nik, was flicking through your log, you have achieved alot and come along way in a short time! Being a beginner myself i had a look at your starting weeks and your results were very very strong from the beginning, especially compared to my feable beginner efforts. I was just wondering what you used to do before xfit?

Hey Manni!! Well I had been doing the triditional old school military workout. 4 sets 8 reps, bench, lat pulldowns, curls, squats, ect.

But just befor I started cross fit Brady(on the boards here) bought me a copy of the ''LL Coo J Platnum Work out''. I did it because Brady thought well enough to get it for me, I was going to do it. I don't recamend it. I didn't like it, I did finish it. So I had been working out two years befor Cross fit and running minimum two miles a day, plus bleachers.
You are mot febel!! You are at your level. Brady couldnt do maybe one pullup when he started with me. He did jumping pullups. Now he is RXing workouts. It will come.

You have a rope at work , I am so jealous, we had scaffolding around the building last year which got some good use. Were the double unders consecutive or did you take a break between them :D

Yea, we(Brady and I) braded it our selves, it could be a little thicker, but I'm not complaning!!!
:yeahthat: I remember reading someone had rings at work! lol
Yea, and ring at work, Life is good!!

Nik Nichols 02-21-2009 10:25 AM

Re: Nik

warm up was 20 ghd's
20 front squats 85lbs
I forget what else, I'm still reeling from the work out

"Joshie"

Complete three rounds for time of:
40 pound Dumbbell snatch, 21 reps, right arm
21 L Pull-ups
40 pound Dumbbell snatch, 21 reps, left arm
21 L Pull-ups

35:20

Pullups were full range of motion, which turned in to one at a time.

I had to watch out to not use the kick up to the ''L'' as momentum for the pullup and to hold the ''L'' all the waty down. Which I was starting to just drop from the top of the pull.

Elizabeth Terris 02-21-2009 07:02 PM

Re: Nik

Nice Joshie! I absolutely hate one arm dumbbell snatches. Great work.

Nik Nichols 02-21-2009 07:07 PM

Re: Nik

Thanks Elizabeth, the snaches were not to bad, my form was better, I worked real hard on form. My legs are toast!!

Scott Jenkins 02-22-2009 02:00 AM

Re: Nik

Great time Nik, the L pull ups should of been easy with those little legs :D My core is got a serious ache on this morning, I like that feeling. As you did not mention the back I will assume all is good.

Yea, back was good, I watched my form, and pretty much let the weight drop from the top of the snach and just controlled the fall to not put strain getting it back down.

Off to front squat now.

Nik Nichols 02-22-2009 09:16 AM

Re: Nik

Front squat 3-3-3-3-3 reps
1. 145lbs
2. 165lbs
3. 185lbs
4. 205lbs
5. 220lbsx2 Knees went in on this set, stopped on the third rep.

Scott Jenkins 02-22-2009 09:18 AM

Re: Nik

Good work Nik, do you have a Front Squat PR and have you been over 200lb before?

Re: Nik
Good work Nik, do you have a Front Squat PR and have you been over 200lb before?
I did a serch on my log, because I don't remember doing it, and on the main page they didn't have a compared to date. I don't thing I have gone that heavy befor. So I guess this is my ''PR'' for lack of never doing it. Or I just set my stardard.

I went at it with core in mind. Hold my breath, tighten my core, go slow and smooth, get low.

It just progressed from there. That last set was my limit.Knees went. I'm real happy with it!! My back was/is good.

That is 55lbs over body weight. Good enough!!
