I don't care if I'm being childish, I want my rings!

I know the wait will be worth it but getting I'm getting ancy.

My DIY rings work perfectly well but they don't come with the muscle-up and iron-cross mojo.

I couldn't bump the original thread because it was archived.

Dennis Yiatras 01-16-2006 03:31 PM

b/w 16th and 20th wasnt it. Cant wait either I can have a high and low ring set up...

Tyler Hass 01-16-2006 05:59 PM

I completely understand. I just got the first production samples today and will upload the pics to my site asap. They look and feel great. We should have some rings ready to ship out this friday or early the following week. As far as estimates go, I was a little off, but for a brand new product it's always difficult to be certain where you will be in a month.
If that's you in your avatar, I can see why you need the rings right away!

Stanley Kunnathu 01-16-2006 06:54 PM

Thanks Tyler.

Can't wait.

So what if that's me in the avatar! I can do an iron cross just because the fat in my shoulders prevent me from raising my arms anymore

Michael Leach 01-17-2006 07:45 AM

In anticipation of the new rings, I spent several hours Saturday severely cramped up in my attic reinforcing the trusses above the great room so that I could hang my new rings from there. No longer will I be limited by the 8' ceiling in my garage. I still can't stand completely straight or bend over. =)

only a crossfit'r or power-ring user would understand either... everyone else just looks at me funny and asks "why do you have rings in your living room?!". ;)

Of course, I had to put my old rings up temporarily until I receive the Elite rings. Then the old rings are going back to the garage for low exercises. BTW, They are currently around 7 1/2' high and I'm pretty short so I have to jump to get on them. No more holding up my knees/legs and hoping not to bash the concrete or smack my head on the ceiling - w00t!!

here's some eye candy:

Thanks, Tyler, got a set as an xmas present--can't wait!

Tyler Hass 01-17-2006 03:11 PM

Here are some pictures of our first production samples.

The wait will soon be over. I'm hoping to get started shipping them this weekend. It might actually take a week to fulfull all of the pending orders. There are quite a few people on the list.

Stanley Kunnathu 01-17-2006 03:57 PM

Those look f*!#$ing amazing!

Pure genius.

You should consider selling them in black, they look bad-***!

Andrew Brown 01-17-2006 04:19 PM

Those look awesome. I hope you make a killing on them.

If you sold the black ones, you could probably tack on 50$ if you called it the 'tactical elite' version.

Paul Alvarez 01-17-2006 11:10 PM

The black ones look pretty sweet too!

At least most of you have your old power rings, I was nice enough to give mine to my bro for christmas since I ordered the elites.
Enjoy your old rings fellas-ill just sit here in a pool of jeleousy for the moment =)

Roger Harrell 01-18-2006 09:34 AM

Tyler, the strap feeding through the ring was a brilliant idea for conditioning type rings. Nice!

John Velandra 01-18-2006 11:13 AM

ANy specific word yet on shipping dates??? NEED RINGS!!! 8-)

Tyler Hass 01-18-2006 12:16 PM

I will be shipping them as soon as I possibly can. I hope that I will be able to start this weekend and have them all out by the end of next week.

Paul Findley 01-18-2006 12:29 PM

Have you tested them to failure? At what force does the webbing/ring interface fail or do they fail elsewhere?

Stanley Kunnathu 01-18-2006 01:14 PM

Not so much worried about failure as much as I'm curious if there is any sharp edges around the slits that could wear away the webbing?

Clay Jones 01-18-2006 02:58 PM

Ferget black, I want 'em in PINK!

Great idea to have the strap feeding through the ring.

Stanley Kunnathu 01-20-2006 09:58 AM

I don't want to keep posting new threads on this topic so I'll just add to this thread and let it bump up.

My sister (who got me the rings) was wondering if she didn't get the card saying that the rings have been ordered should she be concerned?

We know that her credit card will get charged only when they get shipped out, but it is there a way to confirm that we have an order?

I'm really not trying to be a pain, that's why I'm not flooding Tyler's inbox. Plus, others might have the same questions.

Thanks for everything, Tyler.

Paul Alvarez 01-20-2006 09:59 AM

Any new developements on the web page for those who have expired orders? Im getting more and more antsy as the date nears:crazy:

Stanley Kunnathu 01-20-2006 01:09 PM

What does expired order mean?

John Velandra 01-20-2006 04:26 PM

Tyler Hass 01-20-2006 04:58 PM

There were some orders that expired. I will be sending out an e-mail to everyone this applies to this weekend. If you don't receive an e-mail from me, then you don't need to worry. Orders expire after about 30 days if I don't charge the card. Unfortunately, I didn't know about this. But people will still get the original pre-order price.
Also, the rings have been load tested and can handle just over 1000 lbs per ring.

Paul Findley 01-20-2006 06:28 PM

Thanks for the load information. That should be plenty! I know little about rings or what is done on them. Are there ring exercises that should not be executed on this style of ring? Not that I am going to be swinging from from handstand to handstand anytime soon :-) whatever that is really called.

I am looking forward to their arrival!

John Velandra 01-20-2006 06:29 PM

WoooHoooo!!! Me and three or four other fun-loving people...

So Tyler, this weekend??? Fingers & Toes crossed??? Hang in there buddy - we appreciate your work! Just anxious to play

Paul Alvarez 01-20-2006 08:00 PM

I know your swamped with getting these orders out Mr. Hass, but we really do appreciate your help/efforts/services. I feel like its just about Christmas(again:proud:) to get that one special gift. You all know how it is.

John Velandra 01-22-2006 02:26 AM

Did they get out this weekend?

Stanley Kunnathu 01-23-2006 12:27 PM

I just got the bad news about my expired order.
My sister re-ordered.

As much as I'm disappointed, I understand the perils of getting a new product online. Shiznit happens. Obviously, the earlier the better but don't expect any angry mail from me.

Let's be clear, I appreciate everything you provide Tyler. Good luck.

Roger Harrell 01-23-2006 02:43 PM

Paul, a swing to handstand would be either a "shoot to handstand" if toes are leading or "backuprise to handstand" if heels are leading. If the swing initiates from handstand then it would be a "back giant" or "front giant" respectively. And, no, I wouldn't do any significant swing skills on Tyler's rings. They are simply not designed for that.

Tyler Hass 01-23-2006 02:46 PM

They did not ship out this weekend. The materials did not arrive last week. I've been told that I should receive some rings this week, but not enough to fulfull all of the back orders. Luckily, you are pretty high up on the list if I remember correctly.
And Roger is correct, the Elite Rings and Power Rings are not designed for swing moves.

Paul Findley 01-23-2006 03:14 PM

Thanks! I will resist the urge to giant swing.

Skip Chase 01-23-2006 03:26 PM

I received the email regarding the 'expired order'. Obviously, the expired orders were the orders placed first. Will they remain at the beginning of the shipping list?

Tyler Hass 01-23-2006 06:00 PM

Definitely yes, your place in line will not change. You guys are the ones that put in the extra effort. I appreciate it a lot. Thanks,
ps I have to come visit your gym. I play golf occasionally up in Burlington.

Jared Waltz 01-23-2006 07:14 PM

What does 'not designed for swing moves' mean?
Is it because of the strap threading system, or is it a matter of stresses?

Tyler Hass 01-23-2006 09:57 PM

It is mostly a matter of stresses. Most gymnasts fall into the under-160 lbs. category. The people on my rings run the gamut from 95-300+ lbs. And the attachment points for the rings vary as well. Not all ceilings would be able to support the loads either. It's better just to leave the swing moves to the gymnastics facilities.
If you happen to fall from a handstand or something like that, you will be fine though. Each ring can support up to a 1000 lbs.

Jared Waltz 01-23-2006 10:38 PM

cool, thanks for the clarification!

John Seiler 01-27-2006 12:26 PM

Holy Crap! Were they running a special on bolts at the hardware store!? Just kidding -that looks great; better safe than sorry. Reminds of some bunk beds we built in college ; called them the "nuclear bunking".

John Velandra 01-31-2006 12:23 PM

Any update on ship dates?

Thanks so much!

I will get them out as soon as they are ready. I'm hoping to ship some out this week. It sounds like the materials are slated to come in today.

Ryan Payne 01-31-2006 08:36 PM

I just sold my old ones on eBay for $55 so now I am without rings for the time being. I thought the timing of my sale and my new purchase would work perfectly.

Doug Emerson 02-01-2006 11:01 AM

Anyone else having issues with your order? I placed my original order on DEC 2. Had to re-order on JAN 23 due to my original order expiring. Re-ordered *cool* logged onto my Wells Fargo account. Saw the transaction pending. Right on, I'm actually going to get my rings. Checked my bank statement again the other day. No record of my order. I have plenty of money in my account. What happened to the transaction? I want my rings:angry:Anyone else having this issue?

Tyler Hass 02-01-2006 01:39 PM

I haven't charged the card yet. A temporary charge always shows up immediately after you order, I guess to verify that funds are in teh account. But no money is withdrawn at this point. I have to capture the charges manually and I will not do that till they ship out.
In the good news dept, the materials arrived today and manufacturing is underway. From what I hear, they look awesome. I will get some pictures of them tomorrow.
