Jodi - It was tough doing the exercises in written order - ouchie! I had to redo many kips since my chin didn't quite clear the bar several times -- more painful. The coaching part was just getting our newbie through the workout so she doesn't feel abandoned and had a hard time pulling on the body rows.
My goal on the next MURPH is to at least match your first MURPH time. :D

V - suffering was trully an honor to the late serviceman, Navy Lieutenant Michael Murph.

WOD 050408

SP (1-1-1-1-1)
PP (3-3-3-3-3)
PJ (5-5-5-5-5)

WU = Taught 60min Indoor Cycling

SP 50-55-60-65-70f = 65, same
PP 65-70-75-80-85-90f = 85, same
PJ 85-90-95x3-95x3-95x5 = 95 (PR), although the last rep didn't feel solid.
**** Since they weren't bumper plates, my clavicle and sternum bone took a beating each time I would drop the bar before reracking it.

Last time this WOD came around on 080408:
SP 55-60-65-65-70f = 65
PP 70-75-80-85-90f = 85 (PR)
PJ 90f-85-90-95f = 90 (PR)

Then practiced on Pull Ups and HSPUs
5# DB Weighted (Overhand Grip) Dead Hang Pull Ups x3
10# DB Weighted (Overhand Grip) Dead hang Pull Up x1
Overhand Grip Kips 5-5
Underhand Grip Kips 5-5
Neutral Grip Kips 5-5

HSPU 3-3-3-5-5 (Now, 2.5 inches to go before touching the ground)
*** Previous practice was a lot lower or longer range of motion. So, I will be diligently working on narrowing the gap from now on. No more practice abandonment).

I think I'll stick with Cindy style for a while. Once I get a really good time on that maybe I'll switch to doing the excercises in order. I can't believe Anthony got 33 minutes on his first Murph. His running is improving drastically...wish mine was. :( haha!

It's so wonderful to see you performing all these pull-ups now. You have made some serious improvements since I've started following your log.

Way to go mijn vriend, ik ben trots op jouw ! :highfive:

Grace,

I really wish you were closer to Dallas too! I just bought four pairs of tall socks this weekend - wish we could rock some tall sock/cute tee workouts together! Maybe my next trip can be a whirlwind tour of Texas.

WOD 080505 50 BURPEES FOR TIME

This was a painful workout! (me puppies - ouchie!) :o

Warm Up 3 rounds:
High knees 30 seconds
Donkey Kicks x 10

50 Burpees
= 4:17

All sets completed with thighs and puppies hard contact on the floor (OUCHIE!) to a foot high (some were short) jump off the floor and full body extension. Flashing through my head was Beth and Dustin yelling at me to drop down fast on the push up portion of the burpees when we did Quarter Gone Bad a month ago.

Extreme lung burn and a little disorientation on this one! I had to lay down and catch my breath!

Then diligent practice:
HSPU 3-3-3-5 (head touched the pillow 2.5-3 inches from floor)
