what is your occupation?
I thought it might be interesting to have a thread on what everyone around here in the CrossFit "community" does for a living. Plus, I'm curious.

To get the ball rolling, I am an attorney.

Another reason I am wondering is that virtually all of the people at work who hear anything about the way I work out (CrossFit website WODs fairly regularly though not always skillfully) quickly come to the conclusion that I am, in fact, insane--or at least that I have joined some Jonestown-style cult that has massive stores of Kool Aid on hand "just in case." Is this reaction normal?

There was a thread recently about what those of us who are trainers/affiliate owners do for their "day job" but I didn't see one about everyone else:

(wfs, obviously)

I teach 6th and 7th grade history. CrossFit helps me survive without getting tied to a chair and shot by arrows.

I'm currently a trainer at a globogym... please try not to throw rocks, I do my best to work crossfit concepts in; some appreciate it and others have gone to other trainers as a result:rofl:

When I started Crossfit I was an engineer, and a skydiving instructor on the side. I'm going to school to be an EMT, so in the hopefully near future I'll be working in that field.

Re: what is your occupation?
I used to work in the film and television industry. I worked as a music editor for about 7 years. The most recognizable things I worked on were Mariah Carey's "Glitter" and the NBC sitcom "Scrubs."

Last summer I "retired" and now work full time at Petranek Fitness, coaching and helping Andy run the business.
