John, What's an RFT?
I think its Rounds for time.

Glad to see you signed up for the Masters Jeff, that's great...we need more of us representing. I signed up for sectionals too...that will be interesting...just hope to survive.

Terry, glad to see that both you and Jeff signed up!

......just hope to survive <----- I think you are underestimating yourself, Terry (or perhaps just being humble). You'll do great!

3/3 WOD

“The Filthy Fifty”
50 Box Jumps (24")
50 Jumping Pull Ups
50 KB Swings (1 pood)
50 Walking Lunges
50 Knees to Elbows
50 Push Press (45#/33#)
50 GHD Back Extensions
50 Wall Balls (20#)
50 Burpees
50 Double Unders

30:31 as Rx'd.

I've done modified versions before, but this was the first time as Rx'd. Hard to say what was the most hellish: 24" box jumps and #20 wall balls were certainly contenders, as was perennial fan favorite burpees (yay burpees!).

Survive is right.

Dang, the Filthy Fifty looks scary.

We worked on thrusters and pullups this morning. I really want a stinkin' pullup for my birthday in, er, about five weeks. Either kipping or no bands. Just one would be good. I'm not sure I'm going to make it. Although this morning, I worked a little on pushing away from the bar at the top of the movement. Apparently I haven't been doing that part because it felt completely weird.

Jeff/Terry Indeed, RFT=Rounds For Time

Deb, Speaking of other missing friends, Charlie Pyke (he of dancing broccoli fame) e-mailed me the other day. He's been busy trying to retire from the Air Force and assured me he'd be back on the board as soon as he figured out what he wanted to be when he grows up.

3-3-10 Happy Birthday to my 5 year old, Ben.
WU: Pushups/Wallball shots/Goodmornings/Wide grip DL/SU/Ring dips

C&J(split)
#75x3/#85x3/#95x3
#115x1
#125x1
#135x1
#145x1
#155x1
#165xFxF

This lift always makes me feel ungainly and disjointed. I was also somewhat distracted and unable to focus on form. Previous PR here was #165. I certainly felt strong enough but couldn't get my head right.

Cashed out with:
5 RFT
3 pullups
6 Burpees
9 BW Squats
all done wearing a #16 vest (props to Terry for reminding me I had one in the closet)

I didn't wake up in time to make it to masters swimming, so, instead, I went to the beach and did a fun interval workout in the sand...running, squatting, lunges, push ups, walking, planks....then walked the doggies....then sat and watched a couple of paragliders landing on the beach.

Just a beautiful morning! :)

Happy 5th, Ben.

Welcome back, Di. If it's any consolation, my birthday is a week closer and I'll (still) be older than you.

03/01/10: Rest

03/02/10:

WARMUP—
30 Squats
20 Pushups
30 Flutter Kicks
25 hand-to-hand k-bell swings (36 lb)

STRENGTH—
Dead Lift
5x135, 5x185, 5x225, 5x275, 3x295
(definitely had a couple more left at 295, but as my back has been wonky for over 2 months, but felt fine today, didn't want to push it too much, too fast)

WOD—
10 weighted pushups (25 lb on back), 1 ball slam (25 lb)
9 weighted pushups (25 lb on back), 2 ball slams (25 lb)
8, 3
7, 4
6, 5
5, 6
4, 7
3, 8
2, 9
1, 10

7:58 (all the pushups clean)
