Bill....yup I guess we are eh? it seems that there are fewer and fewer of as we get older though......baring a serious medical issue I want to be that 80 year old guy in our gym that people just shake their heads at. if for no other reason than to mess with people:D last nite bench nite speed bench, 3 rep bench presses, dbell tri kick backs, pin press skull crushers, apparently I have an irritated IT band in my R knee.....never knew I had one let alone it could be irritated but man does it hurt...... |

JT - Hang in there and get well. Like Cliff, your successes are an inspiration to me.
Have been in a real funk over my shoulder. And have been traveling so workouts have not been as regular or as focused as they should. 6/10 WU: Row 1 km; shoulder rehab Workout: Deadlifts 65, 75, 85 x15 Goblet squats 35, 45, 55 x15 Wall pushups x15x3 DB rows (L) 52 x12x3/ (R) 30, 35, 40 x12 KB press (L) 25, 35, 35 x12 Lat pulls 35, 45, 55 x15 6/11 2+ hours of pushing and pulling the brush cutter around the yard Row 1km Shoulder rehab; shoulder very sore. Either the new exercises at physical therapy fired it up or yesterday's workout was too much. |

JT - I had good luck with knowledgeable physical therapists even when the ortho could not help. His answer was, "you're getting older and you just have to change your activities." I asked for a physical therapy consult and my upper body PT got me to a 50% improvement over previous overhead press PR after the ortho told me I needed to stop doing overhead presses. :thanx: My back PT got me a big reduction in back and hip pain. I can ask them if one of them knows a good one in your area. Let me know. WU: Row 1km; shoulder rehab exercises Workout: Deadlifts 65, 85, 95 X15 Goblet squats 45 X15 KB press (L) 25, 35, 35 X12 Lat pulls 45, 55, 65 X15 Wall pushups X15X3 DB rows (L) 52 X12X3/ (R) 40 X12X3 Hammies were screaming after the first set of goblet squats so I opted to call it a day. I'm guessing that means I activated them appropriately during the deadlifts. ;) |

6/13 Rest Day
OHV trail maintenance with the local Forest Service. 3+ hours of digging, raking, carrying logs and laying erosion matting. A great day outside. |

6/14 All day dirt bike class. Lots of fun learning new skills like jumping logs or doing u-turns on a steep hill. I learned that counterbalanced riding is a lot like one legged squats.
