Hey Rob,

I downloaded they metabolic diet pdf and just finished. So if I am currently eating 16 blocks a day I would just drop my carb blocks to 3-4 a day up the fat and keep the protein the same and adjust carbs based on energy level? Then on weekends go back to normal zone carb levels or go hog wild!?

Yes to everything and Normal Zoen carb levels. Hog wild has a nasty hang over. Read the darn PM on the metabolic diet!

I am at about 16 blocks with the zone, would this be a reasonable starting point for the Metabolic diet? Using blocks because they are familiar.

week days 5 meals
4 blk protien
8 blk fat
.5 blk carb

weekend days 5 meals
4 blk protien
8 blk fat
3 blk carb

Just eyeballing it that looks pretty good, ill look at the real numbers tomorrow but for your weekend days I would drop the protein blocks to 2/meal fat blocks to say 2-4 and the carbs to 4-5. The "carb load" meals look a lot like classic high carb,low fat meals with a reduced protein level. Both Barry Sears and Mauro DiPasquale recomend a reduced protein intake for a day ro two per week to shake things up metabolically. More tomorrow!

I don't do the zone, but follow kind of like a paleo for athletes? Looks like this:
Meal 1 - P+C (fruit mostly)
Meal 2+3 = P+F(+Veg)
Meal 4 - P+C (complex)
Meal 5+6 - P+F

Do that for 5 days (weekdays) and do a carb up on the weeekend where I have 3 P+C meals and 3 P+F(+veg). I keep the daily carbs at around 1-1.5x bodyweight.

This sounds like the metabolic diet? Is the only difference the fact that I add the P+C post workout meal? My goal is to gain weight while still keeping relatively lean, so far it has been working pretty well.

I will start Monday! This will be a valuable template as I imagine allot of people are in the 16 block range.

This looks like an eating plan I could use. I seem to do well cycling my carbs. How did you figure your food intake? I noticed you said you are at 16 blocks but your description of weekday eating has you at 20 blks of protein (4 blks x 5 meals)
I am at 20 blks per day, any input on how to figure food intake?
