Jack LaLane, who will turn 90 on September 26th, did 1000 Push-ups and 1000 Pull-ups in 82 minutes in 1959, when he was 45 years old. Does anyone know if this record still stands today?

Can any of you come close to beating it?

Dang I knew Jack LaLane was a mutant, but those numbers are unreal. Today I GTG'd pull-ups, push-ups and squats and came out with 300 pulls, 500 pushes, and 1000 bw squats, not even close to his numbers and this was in a 24 hour period. The man is a freak. That's 12 pull-ups and 12 push-ups every minute. If these numbers are accurate, I am certainly humbled.

Give yourself a pat on the back you did a great job! Jack LaLanne is amazing! I typed in "Lalanne 1000 Push-ups" into my search engine and came up with the above figure from several articles. He has also accomplished 1033 Push-ups in 23 minutes!

I also read that on his 88th birthday he dropped and did 88 Push-ups on his star in Hollywood! He is astonishing!

Just completed 255 Push-ups and 60 Chin-ups in 10 minutes. Not exactly up to LaLanne, but not bad.}

The most pull-ups ever done is 370 reps, by Lee Chin-Yong of Hong Kong at age 62 in 1988. Lee Chin-Yong was 5'3" tall and 130lbs. Can anyone find more information as how he trained, pictures, anything?

Jack Lalanne was an example of what bodybuilders SHOULD be. He even had pictures of himself on his site doing one handed handstands and the like. I thought that was golden.

Ben - I'd personally like to see you go for 60 minutes on chins / pushups. I'd be VERY interested to see how far you get!
