Rest day, to the extent that watching the Sugar Bowl with a max HR for the last 20 minutes was "rest".

Today? Walking up and down stairs, then doing 3-3-3-... bench press and seated chest pulls.

Yes a plan sounds like a good idea.
Step 1. Figure out which event(s) you are doing this year.
Step 2. Figure out a goal (e.g., just finish, PR time, specific time).

Once you have those two steps done, we can figure out the rest....

John has a bball game at NL on Saturday at 11, should be done around 12:30.
Up for training after that in the SoP?

Heard you rocked PR and PR rocked you. Nice.

Heard you have mad carpentry skills.

Warm Up
3 TGU's each arm 10-20-35-45-53
5 Burpees
5 Rounds

Bouldered for about an hour. I made up a couple of new problems using a new hold I just got (Grapes of Wrath).

Elbow RX

New problems at KC? Any good?

I could do either KC or SoP on Saturday. Does anyone have a preference. Mary has a game too on Saturday, so I could climb/train mid afternoon.

45min. @ 6.5mph, 1.0% incline, continuous.
30min. stationary bike
first 10min. easy (small chainring), second 10min. moderate (big chainring), third 10min. easy (small chainring).

The problems aren't that good. Some are ok, some aren't. But, they're new.

I don't know if I can make it to The Shed this weekend. Let's see what the weather does. It's snowing pretty hard at my house right now.

Friday 1-7-2011
4 laps breaststroke warmup,
30min. freestyle (breathing on both sides), moderate effort,
4 laps breaststroke cooldown

1mi. @ 6.8mph, rest as needed,
1mi. @ 6.9mph, uncle!
Had intended to five miles, but the legs had other plans.

Tim, I'm going to have to pass on The Shed, I'm going to stay ome and shovel out.

Re: The Shed 'O Pain
Bouldered for about 90 minutes.

Watched JT complete a grueling workout. I felt a little guilty just bouldering. There's always tomorrow...

Saturday 1-8-2011
1mi. @ 6.9mph, rest as needed,
1mi. @ 7.0mph, rest as needed,
1mi. @ 7.1mph, rest as needed,
1mi. @ 7.2mph, rest as needed,
1mi. @ 7.3mph
I felt really good today. I really needed the rest. Also, resting more than just a minute between intervals allowed me to put more into each interval. I was able to lengthen my stride and keep the pace up, while lowering my turnover and lowering my heart rate.:)

Tim, I thought you would have done today's WOD. I'm trying to figure out a way to do it.

I can't wait to see JT's post!

Saturday in the Aptly Named Shed o PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIN

115# bench press

horizontal pullups on ring dips with heels on box (imagine an upside down pushup, or a horizontal pull up

Yes, burpee-pullups, had never done one, let alone 55.

Sure I was doing it my own way, but that's a really athletic move from the ground to over the bar and back to the ground.

Then, I walked once around the farm in ankle deep snow in the howling wind and 15 degree temperature.
