My 28 day challenge.
I'm starting this log to keep me motivated. Here's the thing: I'm fully convinced that we should all eat paleo. I've read extensively Art de Vany's stuff, Weston A. Price and even Mark's Daily Apple webpage and I agree with almost everything. I just seem to NEVER be able to stick with it, strictly, for more than a few days. What's even worse is, that after a few days of clean eating, I go on a massive binge and I'd eat horribly for a few days straight. I'm talking about really, really bad eating. Must be that "binge eating disorder" or whatever, because I eat like it's the last day of my life and I just wanna taste everything that is sweet, regardless of how full I'm feeling...

So why 28 days? Because in September 7th I turn 26 years old, and I want that to be the day of my next "cheat meal". Why not 30 days, you may ask? Well, this last weekend I went with my wife to a beach resort (2 nights, check in friday and leaving sunday), and I knew I wouldn't be able to control myself there. However, I must admit I ate GREAT compared to all other resorts I've been to. In them, I would always eat like 150 desserts on top of the meat and stuff, this is horrible, and I'd end up feeling so full and hopeless for the duration of the resort. This one was different, I ate a ton of veggies and I had those desserts only ONCE!! I know, incredible. I did drank quite a bit, but still, I felt good throughout the weekend, motivated as heck, I surprised the heck out of my wife too, eating the way I did.

I should also note I'm doing rehab stuff for my AC joint surgery on July 7th, so I wont be doing serious strength training or metcons in these next 4 weeks, but some random rehab/prehab stuff for certain body parts. So I might not log the workouts I do, maybe whenever I see progress or something I will type it here so I don't forget.
I took the "before" pictures yesterday at noon, before lunch. I fully believe that in just 28 days, the "after" pictures should be a shocker. So, here's what I ate:

August 10th 2009:

3 eggs with bacon and lots of celery. Cooked with the bacon fat, maybe 1oz or a little bit more of bacon.

Two plates of soup, lots of veggies in it, and some beef, did not weigh it. Beef cooked without fat this time (grill). Quite a bit of avocado too.

Organic sunflower seeds (unsalted) with about 3/4 teaspoon honey. A few organic almonds (unsalted, roasted).

About 1.3 oranges, 5 strawberries and a cucumber thrown in the blender.

Spinach, bok choy, onion, one garlic, sauteed in organic pastured ghee, with a little Apple Cider Vinegar, with some more beef from the grill, quite a bit of it. Little cup of white wine.

good luck man! i've had the same mentality and struggle with all the same problems...i've started paleo for about the fifth time now :rolleyes: but it can and does work. get after it and show me how it's done!

The advice I would give someone who has fallen off the paleo-wagon would be:


Make sure you're eating a good amount of nuts for snacks (I eat 1-1.5oz of almonds a day, split between 2 snacks usually...with some fruit). Use butter/oil on veggies, eat the fat on meat when you can find organic/grassfed/pasture-fed stuff.

This will keep you from being hungry. You shouldn't be starving on this plan.

Mike: I plan to stick to this 100% and serve as inspiration to other folks like you, thanks for the encouragement, I'll show you how it's done and hopefully you'll stick to your own plan after you see my before/after pics or something, heh.

August 11th:

3 eggs, bacon, and lots of celery.

Lean pork loin cooked with coconut oil, maybe 6oz. Broccoli, lots of it, sauteed with organic ghee, some onion and garlic. I had some more of the onion and garlic so mixed with some little lettuce and cabbage that had just been chopped. Also a small carrot, raw. Green tea.

Organic pumpkin seeds, almost half a cup I think, with less than 1 tsp honey. A few almonds too, to ensure I wouldn't get hungry quickly.

Little bit of black coffee.

Papaya.. it wasn't diced, but I guess it'd be over a cup if it were, or about that.

Bok choy and zucchini sauteed in ghee. The pan was greasy so no more fat added to cook two smoked pork chops, delicious stuff. Also ate about 7 olives with a little bit of raw ham. Little cup of white wine.

NOTE 1: In the main 3 meals, I am taking 2 cod liver oil caps, and a big teaspoon of fish oil. So daily I take 6 CLO caps and about 4.5 grams of omega 3's.

NOTE 2: The organic ghee is the closest thing to organic butter I can get. It specifically says it's made from PASTURED cows. I haven't been able to find organic butter, but this seems to be almost the same. It's either this or a regular supermarket-bought butter, from cows than probably eat crap.

August 12th:

3oz or so of lean pork loin, cooked in coconut oil the day before. Bacon, a bit more than usual this time, maybe 2oz? Lots of celery.

Broccoli, lots, with organic ghee. Canned pink salmon, no idea how much, maybe 6 or 7 oz? Some onion there too, some anchovies in olive oil as well. Green tea.

2.5oz of walnuts. I know it was this amount because the little pack said so.

Pineapple, didn't weigh to see how much.

Cream, from milk. About 6-7 oz of it. About 5 strawberries, a cup of diced papaya, and 4 black grapes.

A whole can of "fresh spinach", raw, with a can of sardines in olive oil, some anchovies in olive oil, and almost a tablespoon of dijon mustard. Tiny little bit of white wine.

NOTES: I wont say I "fell off the wagon", but I did screw up. I bought that cream just because I had not bought it in many, many years. I wanted my 2 year old son to try it, and while I made him a bit with some fruit, I made the mistake of trying it! Oh my... I ended up finishing the little jar. Each serving said 2 gram carbs, 1 gram protein and 22 grams of fat. I ate what I calculated to be about 3.5 servings!! Wow, tons of fat, heh. I ate it along with all that fruit I mentioned... so maybe the insuline response was all right? ... I ate the sardines late at night, with the spinach, just because I feared I had not taken enough protein on this day, but I was not hungry to be honest. I know many people here do paleo with diary, I honestly don't, but I would if I could find raw milk. This cream was made from pasteurized milk, sadly. So it's a mistake, but it's not like I ate grains or sugar or anything, so I'm gonna keep thinking I'm still on track.

August 13th:

3 eggs, bacon, lots of celery. Used too little bacon, or it had too little fat as the eggs got stuck to the pan, which never happens. Should've added some coconut oil or ghee, will do next time.

Some black coffee, maybe 1/3 cup or 1/2 at most.

Beef cooked in coconut oil, pretty lean. Mybe 6-7 oz? A ton of bok choy and red cabbage, with half an onion and a garlic clove, sauteed in ghee and a bit of coconut oil also. Some avocado thrown in there.

Organic sunflower seeds, raw, with some salted pistachios.

2 kiwis and a cucumber thrown in the blender.

Spinach (from frozen, boiled for a few minutes until not stuck together) and quite a bit of raw lettuce, half an onion (sauteed 2 mins.), garlic clove, 0.5 tbsp of sesame oil, 2.5 tbsp olive oil, a little bit of ACV and a little salt. Turned out to be a pretty good salad.
About 6 oz of lean beef again, leftover from lunch, heated with some coconut oil.

NOTE: In this day I decided to semi-punish myself for yesterday, so I tried to stay low-ish carbs... probably didn't do a good job at that, lol, but I rested from the broccoli, from carrots, ate just 2 kiwis as fruit, and had no wine at all.

August 14th:

Friday. Always a challenge, fridays are always challenging as it's the night I go out with my wife, usually, to eat out and hang out with another couple or whatever. The day went like this:

3 eggs, bacon, celery.

Chicken thigs, about 4, small bastards. Broccoli, sauteed in ghee, garlic clove. A little bit of avocado. Green tea.

Pecans, maybe 2oz.

Half cucumber, half orange, 1/4 banana, and about 3 or 4 strawberries in the blender.

Pak Choi, tons of it, with olive oil, andhovies, a bit of balsamic vinegar.. this was about an hour before going out, so I wouldn't go on an empty stomach and starving.

We went out with another couple and went to two places.

1) In place one I ordered a "ceviche" as a starter, of a fish called "mero" in spanish. It's like a fish with lemon/vinegar, over a leaf of lettuce. Pretty good so far. My plate was a grilled salmon with grilled veggies (some pepper, eggplant and zucchini, but very little of it all). We gulped down a bottle of red wine between 3 of us, so lets say I had 1/3 bottle. However....

2) In place 2 some of us got hungry, I saw another cheap fish and ordered it. This one is called "chillo" and again it was grilled, this time with what seemed like steamed veggies, some broccoli, cauliflower and a bit of carrot, I ate everything. The bad thing is that we finished another bottle of wine. Lets say I had, again 1/3 of the bottle. My wife is pregnant so she's not drinking more than a zip.

It was a great night, we had a lot of laughs, etc. And I'm actually quite pleased. These friday nights are my biggest challenges and I kindof expected to go a bit too far with the alcohol, but was hoping that once the alcohol reached my head (heh) I wouldn't go crazy and start searching for sweet stuff. Eating all that fish with veggies was very fine. Heck, I even asked them not to use some dressing that came with the salmon from the first place, heh.

So in conclusion, if all my friday nights were like this, it's great. Usually I would have some beers, or other sweet drinks including khalua or something, which would then lead to me eating some sort of sugar-filled dessert or whatever, and I'd go on a binge so bad that after getting home I'd still be looking for cookies or whatever sweet stuff I could find. So it was a nice friday which means I'm still on track.

August 15th:

Can of tuna in water. 1 tbsp dijon mustard, olive oil, olives and capers, a tiny bit of sesame oil, lots of celery, raw this time.

Red cabbage, a ton, two small carrots, olive oil, 1/3 of an avocado, a bit of balsamic vinegar, ACV. Two smoked pork chops cooked in coconut oil. Green tea.

Melon, maybe 9oz.

Lean beef, 8oz. A bit over half a pack of frozen spinach (whole pack is 1lb), after boiling until not frozen, tons of olive oil over it. I gotta admit it did not taste good. Two days ago was much better. I actually drank 1 tbsp of coconut oil to add more calories, even though I used tons of olive oil.

NOTE: No wine today, and surprisingly, no nuts and seeds. I admit I did try to reduce a bit of calories today after yesterday's ton of wine, hence no nuts/seeds and no bit of wine either. But I still ended up eating tons of fat in all 3 meals, except the melon snack. But all good. About the can of tuna: I am aware of the mercury issue, hence you'll rarely see it in this log. I think once in a while wont do much harm.

August 16th:

3 eggs, bacon, celery.

Some carrot, olive oil, about 5-6 olives, some onion, a bit of chopped tomato. One pork chop, grilled over wood so no fat added in cooking. Some beef too but I tried not to overeat. A little white wine. Green tea.

Pumpking seeds, organic raw. I was out of honey, tasted kinda bad all alone. Some ginger tea I think, two cups at least.

1 Orange, 1 Kiwi.

Broccoli, a TON, sauteed with butter and garlic. Some beef, was enough I bet, but my desire for tasty food made me eat a chicken drumstick, also grilled over wood earlier this day, no fat added, I ate the skin, it was DELICIOUS. A little white wine.

As if I had not eaten enough on this day... I was very hungry before bed, and I found some salted cashewes and ate a TON. Argh. Kindof a "slip" but at least it's Paleo. But I shouldn't have eaten them, not one.. but I was hungry and thinking "I should eat", and when you have a whole jar, it's hard to control your portion.

NOTE: Although I ate Paleo, days like these are probably not gonna lead to a lean physique. But who knows!

Sundays are the second hardest day of the week for me, as we usually spend it at my parent's house with some more family, and TONS of meat is cooked over wood, and everyone eats sweet stuff in the afternoon... hard to control oneself 100%, but I think I was doing a darn fine job until the bunch of cashewes before bed.

August 17th:

3 eggs, bacon, celery, ginger tea.

Red cabbage and romain lettuce, TONS of it. Olive oil, ACV, balsamic vinegar. Ate like two full plates of this salad. Beef... not sure how much, but more than necessary for sure. It was so good. Lets say 12oz, who knows. Just half a cup of green tea.

Soursop - half of one. Tasty fruit, very common around here. Lots of sugar though, I ate it post workout and not so much carbs on this day anyways.

Organic roasted almonds, about 1.5oz or ~45 pieces, no idea.

Beef, maybe 8-10 oz. So good. The beef from today is leftover from yesterday on the grill, over wood, so no fat added in cooking, but some fat on the cut, not much though, just a bit. About 60% of a 1lb frozen spinach pack, sauteed with ghee and some onion. About a cup of soup that was just made from pumpkin/carrot/water.

NOTES: No wine today. The following bit might be disgusting for some, but I gotta note it: I had some stinky farts today. I blame it on the huge amount of salted cashewes before going to bed on the previous night. What else could it be? :o

August 18th:

3 eggs, bacon, celery (half the usual amount), half red pepper (the thick ones). Wanted something else but had nothing, went to the supermarket today obviously. Green tea.

Cress, quite a bit, lettuce, sesame oil, olive oil, avocado, almost two pork chops, trimming most of the fat. Wife said she used about 1tbsp of both oils... I would have used a bit less sesame oil and possibly more olive oil, but oh well. Cup of red wine. Green tea.

About 1/3 cup sunflower seeds with 1tsp honey, delicious stuff.

A bit of black coffee.

4 plums!

Cucumber and tomato thrown in the blender, with just a fraction of papaya and banana (like 1oz of them both combined, or less). I shouldn't have added that as it did nothing for the flavor, but it was there as they had just prepared some papaya/banana shake (with nothing else, just ice).

Fish, in spanish called "mero basa", dunno in english. Cooked with ghee as wife thought coconut oil was over (I later showed her where the latest unopened jar was, for tomorrow). Lettuce, tons of it, with a bit of onion, a few olives, capers, olive oil, ACV, balsamic vinegar and salt.

I logged in yesterday's food in Fitday, turned out to be about 2700 calories, of which 62% came from fat, 24% from protein and 12% from carbs. The only nutrient I didn't get enough of was calcium, which I got 45% of the RDA. I think another one was at 99 or 96% so I paid no attention to it.

August 19th:

Can of sardines in olive oil, bacon, celery.

A little beef, was able to control myself this time. Red cabbage, lettuce, avocado, half a can of spinach, half onion, olive oil. Cup of red wine. Green tea.

Hazelnuts, I'd guess 1.5 - 2 oz, closer to 2 maybe.

Small orange, 7 strawberries, cucumber thrown in the blender.

Smoked pork chop, lean only eaten, cooked with a bit of coconut oil, good size. About 2oz beef from leftovers. About 1oz raw ham. Broccoli, sauteed in butter, lots of it, half an onion, garlic, and the other half of the spinach can from lunch.

August 20th:

Smoked pork chop cooked with coconut oil, celery, bacon. Little bit of black coffee. Neat breakfast.

Two plates of soup* (will describe below) with a few pieces of beef ribs, not much. Red cabbage and lettuce that was leftover from yesterday, I usually eat veggies fresh but oh well. Quite a good bit of avocado. Green tea.

1.5 apples, and they were kinda big. As if it were not enough, a little bit of mango. Should've eaten less fruits since the goal is fatloss.

Two more plates of the soup I'll describe below, with a few pieces of beef ribs in it. Tablespoon of coconut oil taken as a shot, it tastes good. Green tea.

"African something" tea I bought at a coffee shop after watching Bruno at the theaters.

Ok, the soup is something that me nor my wife cooks, but it was cooked at my folks house, which is where we ate today, and came back after work. No fat is added in cooking, the beef ribs are first done with just water and garlic to make them softer, and then thrown where the soup is being done, which is just a big thing with water and veggies, some spices, that's it. Veggies include pumpkin, carrot, celery, broccoli. As this soup is virtually fat free I made sure to eat a lot of avocado at noon, although the salad had olive oil as well... and at night that is why I had a tablespoon of coconut oil just like that. This soup makes me feel VERY full for some reason. Maybe because I usually don't drink water with meals (except tea, if I choose to drink some), but I hate feeling so full. Maybe the soup is more calorically dense than what I think? Don't know...

Notes: no wine today, no nuts/seeds either!

August 21st:

I BLEW IT. The day started fine. I had a good breakfast and we went to the beach. Watching my wife gulp down some awful food while I only snacked on organic pumpking seeds (maybe 1oz) was tough, but I managed to do it. I think to myself I'm having better control.

Lunch was fine too, small though, so after it I eat like 3oz of hazelnuts. A lot of nuts, I know... but like I said, lunch wasn't as big. Still, I am not doing that bad. A lot of vegetables on this day. We're planning to eat dinner out, and I eat a salad before leaving. At the restaurant I have a ceviche (fish, all paleo) and a small grilled salmon with steamed veggies, and only drink a cup of white wine.

This is where the day should've ended, I felt full and happy about what I had eaten.

But, like I said, and I'll repeat just to be harsh on myself: I BLEW IT!!

After an argument with my wife I got angry/sad/whatever and started eating like a maniac. I gulp down an entire jar of sour cream, it said it had 15 portions at 60 calories each... lol, 900 calories of sour cream. Some honey added to that. I drink a bit of scotch and a but of rum on top of this. I go out all ****ed off at midnight and drink one small beer. I eat a small muffin. I eat a Milkyway. I eat a Twix. And some kind of cookie which wasn't very sweet but kinda big (maybe 1oz).

I do not even want to remember this. I do not know why I did this, and I regret doing so. The funny thing is, I wasn't even craving this stuff... at the restaurant my wife had BBQ baby back ribs and a strawberry juice and I felt so full and nice with my food. I can only blame myself for this.

I will not let it set me back into thinking it's all screwed up though. Today is a new day and I'm back on track (almost 3pm now). Things with the wife are perfect too which is great news.

August 22nd:

Canned of pink salmon, not sure how much. Maybe 6-7oz? Lettuce, lots of it. Anchovies, 2tbsp olive oil, 2/3 tbsp sesame oil, red cabbage, a little bit of shredded carrot, avocado, maybe 1/4 of a regular one, 1tbsp dijon mustard. Green tea.

Organic sunflower seeds, maybe 1/3 cup, with a little bit of honey, less than 1tsp. About 1/3 of a rather small banana. Green tea.

Turkey thigh, cress, canned spinach, ghee, butter, onion, garlic.

NOTES: I skipped breakfast today, was letting my body recover from all the crap last night. No wine and almost no fruit today.

August 23rd:

3 eggs, bacon, celery.

Went out with a lot of family to a chinese food place. I ordered a plate of veggies and ate a ton of broccoli, chinese cabbage and whatever else. I also ate a raw carrot on the way there. I ate quite a bit of pork and a bit of chicken. Green tea. I felt REALLY full after this, but I was happy because I ate a TON of veggies.

More green tea in the afternoon.

About 8 big leafs of roman lettuce, half a yellow pepper, garlic clove, olive oil, half a small-ish avocado, and some pork ribs that were leftovers from lunch at the chinese place. Some red wine to finish off a bottle. Don't plan on drinking wine for several days now.

New plan. Starting IF now. It worked for me in the past, whenever I could stick to it for a few days... I stopped because I could never actually stick to eating paleo all the time, and I have always read one should first dial in the quality of food before playing with the timing. I think I'm doing pretty good currently, despite friday night's issues, I find myself not craving the sweets anymore. So we'll see how I do, I'll try starting "slow".

August 24th:

17 hour fast.

Shrimp, a little bit of canned salmon (leftover), red cabbage, tons of lettuce, avocado, olive oil. Don't remember if some balsamic vinegar or not. Green tea.

1 plum. 1oz organic roasted almonds. Can of sardines in olive oil, 1tbsp dijon mustard, some olives and capers, a little bit of anchovies in olive oil, with canned spinach and half a yellow pepper. Green tea.

Smoked pork chop, 8oz cooked in a little bit of coconut oil. Steamed broccoli, with a bit of orcanic ghee and garlic.

According to fitday this ended up being close to 2100 calories with 63F/25P/12C. Drinking 1 full tablespoon of fish oil and 2 caps of Cod Liver Oil, both 3x a day.

August 25th:

17.5 hour fast.

I ate clean between 1:30pm and 7:50pm this day. At about 10pm I had a light beer. At about 11:30pm, instead of sleeping, I remembered the breyers thread and went down, and said to myself "I'll have some plain yogurt with some pieces of mango that were already cut and stored in the fridge". That led to another serving, to more stuff, BREAD with butter and honey... my goodness, I binged big time, I felt disgustingly full.

The funny thing is that when i went downstars to get the yogurt at first, I checked myself in a big mirror in the living room, and thought to myself "there's some progress!" (was just wearing underwear) ... which kindof gave me an excuse to go insane. I am pathetic.

August 26th:

Eggs, bacon, celery, a sausage.

Can of sardines, anchovies, avocado, spinach, white cabbage, lettuce, olive oil, balsamic vinegar.

1 plum.

Broccoli sauteed in ghee, bacon, raw ham, a bit of chorizo but just a bit. It was my sister's b-day, everyone came to my parent's house and tons of food were there. I did a good job I think. I had no cake!!! Incredible. Just a cup of white wine.

Had eaten clean until the night. I was at a jacuzzi.. people arrived... we drank wine, and ended up eating forbidden stuff. Once again, I suck.

August 28th: ate fine, even being friday night I went out with my wife and ate fish, grilled, with veggies, didn't even drink wine. Tons of veggies on this day, fine eating. No fruits, nuts or seeds either. Kindof a punishment for last night, hah.

August 29th: ate clean again, except for two things: in the morning I had about 2oz (at most) of pork cracklings... now, I have nothing against them, but they were cooked in bad oil for sure, and it was a leftover from yesterday and I think it did me a bit wrong, because my bowel movements have been quite more "watery" than usual (usually not watery at all). Also, I ate some stuff my mom cooked, which was a lot of veggies but she used the awful canola oil... argh.

Anyways, I put it in Fitday and ended up at 2593 calories, 71F, 20P, 9C.

I feel that I've messed up totally, but I will keep posting until my b-day.

August 30th:

Celery, bacon, smoked pork chop.

About 40% of a banana. One orange.

Beef, broccoli, butter.

Almonds, unroasted. Peanuts, dry roasted.

3 eggs, bacon, spinach.

Fitday says 3030 calories, 63F 28P 9C. Too much, and I slipped with those peanuts.

August 31st:

25 hr fast, longest ever for me.

Ate two big meals. I went crazy on some sausages in the first one, that I was not supossed to eat at all... ended up with 2632 calories according to fitday, 77F, 18P, 5C. No fruits today, and no broccoli, hence the low carbs at 35.6grams. Will add a fruit next time, I like the idea of at least a fruit a day.

September 1st:

Pork, the meat and a little bit of fat, taken from cracklings. Oddly enough, I really like the meat plus a bit of fat, and not so much the crispy skin, so I leave that for others who seem to truly enjoy it a lot, the opposite of me.

Beef ribs, lean only eaten, cooked with coconut oil. Broccoli with tons of butter and ghee. A bit of okra, which was not tasty at all today. Pumpkin seeds with a tiny bit of mango. Green tea and a bit of black coffee.

200g spinach, some green cabbage, some shredded carrot, little bit of lettuce, small onion, garlic clove, sauteed with bacon (and it's fat!) and two eggs. Tbsp of coconut oil drank straight from the jar. Green tea.

Fitday says 2640 calories with 68F/23P/9C. Stopped eating before 6pm, going for a nice fast. (In this day I didn't fast, as I ate in the morning).

I am eating clean, but too much. I am nursing an injured wrist and I'm not training with intensity at all... so I'm eating more than necessary. 420 of those calories came from the pork I ate in the morning though, which I was not supossed to eat, but others were eating and told me to have some, I couldn't resist.

One thing I am convinced of is that IF fits me well, and could do wonders for me, as it could help me not eat as much. I have even considered the 1 meal a day thing, as it seems to me it's very easy to eat a LOT at one meal. However, it doesn't seem like the healthiest alternative. For one, I could probably not eat all the veggies that are good for our health. I mean, take a look at this last day for example... all the veggies from the two meals after the pork would be too much in one meal, plus the meat/fat. But two meals a day sounds good. And I could eat them in like a 3 or 4 hour window only. And even then, I really would have no problems eating a high caloric total... the "not eating enough" will never be a problem for me.

September 2nd:

24 hour fast.

Beef ribs, lean only. 2 oz almonds. Lots of broccoli with butter. Tablespoon of coconut oil, and some more to cook the ribs. 1/4 of a small orange (my boy ate the rest).

3 eggs, bacon, spinach, celery, onion, garlic, 1tbsp olive oil, carrot.

Fitday says 2240 calories with 73F, 18P, 9C.

September 3rd:

At night I got together with friends... 5 beers, a sandwich, a little bit of chocolate and two little desserts later I got home, and ate one slice of bread with butter and honey. The rest of the day had been fine. Could it be possible that eating right is making me wanna be less social!? That would be awful.

My challenge ended and I didn't even post the last few days of it. Yesterday (September 7th) I turned 26 years of age. I learned quite a few things and I will apply them very soon. Right now, many things are going on. For example:

-Next friday (11th) I'm taking a 2+ week trip to Denmark to visit an intentional community.
-Today (September 8th) it's been exactly 9 weeks since shoulder surgery, and shoulder feels great right now, awesome.

I learned that even if you ate completely clean, you can still overeat. I am a big eater and I love food, so for me it's very easy to one day go over, say, 3,000 calories on just paleo food... throw some bacon, some oils, nuts and seeds and you're there, it's not hard at all. I can overeat and still lose weight if I am following the mainpage WODs, but like I stated at the beggining of this log, I was/am recovering from shoulder surgery and wasn't exactly as active as someone who follows the mainpage.

I also learned that IF works and is awesome, and fits me perfectly. It's great for a big eater like myself. I could very easily get 2000 calories in one sitting... so eating throughout the day is not the best option, honestly. Once I get back from Denmark I'll keep eating Paleo and will stick to IF, with maybe 2 big meals in the eating window. And I'll hit some WODS hard.
