New to The Zone
 
I am fairly new to CF (2 weeks) and very new to The Zone (starting tomorrow). I am 5'9 230 29% and I figure my block prescription is 18 or 19. Does this sound about right? Should I go less blocks to lose weight faster or will the 18 to 19 suffice? Any input is appreciated.:thanx:

It sounds alright. What's going to determine success is whether or not you can stick to the plan for the long term. Stay at 18/19 blocks/day... keep carbs low density (primarily veggies, no sugar or grains. Good luck!

I'm reading that most CFers use the .7 multiplier for the diet. If I do this it comes out to about 16 blocks. I've seen charts though that say large males need 18 to 19. Is it safe to do 16 at 5'9/230/28%?

pick a number.

check your weight in 2 weeks and re-evaluate based on that.

I would start higher if it were me, why go too low initially? So start with 18 and if you don't lose weight in 2 weeks, then drop a block.
