Question:

Sorry for how absurdly easy this might sound, but here goes:

On my web site I am trying to post a link to something else, but instead of having a huge URL, I want to have the link but replace the URL with the words 'Here' . As in "Click here."

I have seen it done on here but unsure how to do it myself.

Suggestions?

Thanks

Richard

Re: Question:

Your web editing software probably has a task bar or menu button for creating links. Highlight the text you want to use as the link, click the link button (it usually looks like the link of a chain), and paste the link in the pop-up box.

I'm sure Glenn answered the question for you, but just in case you're working with the HTML directly the code would be as follows:

<a href="http://www.linkgoeshere.com">click here</a>

Nothing old school about it. That is still the way links are done to this day. Unless I missed your sarcasm or joke? :)

I meant it from the perspective that everything is point and click these days. Admittedly, I haven't done any web editing for years, but what I've seen lately is all about point-n-click. ;)
