Been away on vacation in Hamptons. Lots of long bike rides, swims and body weight WODs.
Today: 3 rounds for time: 10 reps OHS @ 125lbs and 50 DUs: 18:46. I absolutely suck at both OHS and DUs. This was the heaviest I've ever gone on the OHS and am confident that the DUS will click and I'll be able to do them well with a little more practice. Still, really liked this WOD. |

Left knee or hamstring was gimpy today. Did an easy 3 mile run and a lot of stretching and foam rolling. Felt gimpy before and after but great during run.

Everything you need to do to lift big weights are contained in my microcycles. They are geared to make you a balanced Weightlifter. One of the most important attributes you need training under me is Patience. [/B][/I]Note the capital P. He told me stop adding extra strength stuff in there, just if I want to do a little GPP stuff, DONT OVERDO IT. It just feels so weird to do hardly anything!! |

3 sets incline BP @ 185 x 5; 10 PUs 3 sets decline BP @ 195 x 5; 10 PUs. Felt really strong doing 90 pull ups. Usually high rep pull ups wear me out. Maybe my body's adapting. Finished with classic triceps and core workout. |

today proved i was not built for speed.
Jeremy 1600 m run 2000 m row 1600 m run 27:00 tomorrow nite is our first food log meeting. looks like the group is headed in the paleo/zone direction. should be quite an experment/experience as i love to eat and am not the best at eating correctly. i did however weigh myself today and am down to 230 lbs which is down from about 255 lb in january just before shoulder surgery. i am willing to ride jump on this ride with both feet and see where it takes me. |

Ha the same doctor that told me two years ago I was too old to be exercising 6 days a week couldn't find a single thing to complain about this time. They would be no reps in comp. Still not unhappy for a first time. I have one, its fine. The only thing is the bar is fatter than the one at my box. Tougher for grip, for me anyway and my hands are big. |

Uh...I've still got you beat by 6# my Sista!! ;) I just ordered the one for 8' ceilings. I'm still on the hunt for rubber flooring that won't cost me $225.00 in shipping charges. It's all coming together! Still on the list are abmat and a wall timer and that's about it for now. I've got just about everything a woman could need. AMRAP 15 10 HPC (95/65) 10 push press (95/65) 10 ring digs 10 pullups 4 rounds. Hard to say where the bottleneck was, because everything took a lot of time and energy. Probably push presses were fastest, and the HPC's were the hardest. Ring dips took a while too because I ended up doing them one at a time pretty early on. Claw |

2nd to last official practice before loggers sports
spent 2 hours throwing an axe in to a taget 30' away or running over a 20' log floating in a pond pulling an 80 wire rope and metal thing, jumping over 2 39" (boy are they big in real life) logs, throwing the metal thing over another 39" log, then running back jumping over the same 2 39" logs and then over the floating one back to the finish line. total distance covered 150 yards. i made it over the floating log once. the rest of the trys i was in the pond which is 4' deep pulling the 80 lb cable and then having to jump out of the pond and continue with the run. i have a nice 6' gash in my shin where it rubbed against the wire rope when i jumped out of the pond one time. sould be a fun weekend next weekend just a bit worried about doing this in front of 5000 people. we then went over to our coaches house where we went over the food challenge he has enrolled us in. we were all in for a shock. i thought i was doing pretty good until he started going down the list of what is o.k. and not o.k. this next week is going to be tough esp the no beer part with a bike race saturday and a wedding to go to. |

Yesterday: 30 mile bike. Rode with my buddy who is the fastest biker I know. Rode at a blistering pace on a very hilly route in East and West Greenwich, RI. Very tough to keep pace with him on the flat sprints but I might be stronger on the hills. Went out at 9am and by the end it was over 100 degrees. Heat did not seem to affect us until after the ride. Drank water all day long and it took most of the day to fully recover. Loved this ride!

He has ONE squat rack, I could squat there, I might join, $39/month, I asked if a discount for older folks, and he said I was wayyyy far from it (and then I told him, 51. why are people always surprised by that? but no discount! 65). A platform in my garage is not gonna help me when its 0° in winter, and FDU gym hours now, most nites I run to blairstown to squat. Lot of benches, no women's bars, and I tried to spin one of the bars he had - nothing!! Worse than my shi**y bar at home. He and GF are personal trainers, he's ACE and his GF, he told me she used to be a figure athlete and how its all politics. And yes, last log note was correct, she benches like, 30#-50#. He SAID she used to do a lot more, I dunno. He kept talking about me PLing and I was trying to explain, PL is completely diff than Oly. Told him I train at FDU and he said he goes sometimes to, like a 24hour fitness in Morristown. I didn't think he was getting it, maybe just trying to make a sale though. He was a nice guy, he told me if he expands he'd consider maybe a platform. He couldn't tell me how much a figure athlete squats in terms of bodyweight. I don't know I never see my legs getting any bigger; well, they're WAY bigger nothing fits, my chest either, but it doesnt seem like much is muscle! Although, he did tell me I have a lot of muscle. Flattery. Maybe Ill pitch a NEW NJ show in NYC, jersey gym-a-licious? I bet it'd be funny! (I love the Jerseylicious they show all these happening places in the commercials like Hoboken, JC, NY, then you find out the salon is in GREEN BROOK which is soooooo NOT happening NOT Italian...best thing about Green Brook is Eight on the Break pool hall on rt 28 in Dunellen. Deb seems funny to think of going into a big box Gym or the like and putting in some work, when I am on Vacation in Mexico I use the resort gym and it always seems odd to try and do a crossfit style WOD there, let alone OLY lifting

Deb: I mean off the floor, like a dead lift, pull under the bar into a squat and then up into a split jerk. I'm not sure if that's a full clean, power clean or what.
