Veterans Day - A thank you from a civ

"We sleep safely in our beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence to those who would do us harm."

To all of those who have served or are currently serving in the military, thank you for your service. Being a civilian with no military record, I have nothing but the most humble and grateful of attitudes to those willing to sacrifice in the name of country. We enjoy the freedoms of life and liberty here because others are willing to make sure no one can take it from us, even if it requires going over there. I cannot say thank you enough.

Re: Veterans Day - A thank you from a civ

Hear hear! Couldn't have said it better myself.

"In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields."

I want to also chime and say thanks as well. Freedom is not free.

As an active duty member of the military, I can't express enough how much your support means. Thank you for that.
