Re: A Bears Tale
did you hit full squat cleans or power cleans Lance. When I do it with power cleans I call it Power Elizabeth.
No explanation about why the sad face is at the end :(:pepper::( This is how you should emerge from sad face!!!
 I did the Cleans as demo shows :rules:....not sure what you mean by Power Clean?? I did have a look for your time but couldnt see it....how did you get on?? Sadface was because i think I could of gone faster, was no happy with my performance. But my ring dips are getting stronger! |

Sorry to jack your thread Scott, but I was running in to this myself and though I chime in. |
Re: A Bears Tale
Thats fine Nik we have all been in the Elizabeth squat power discussion at some point. I swerved Elizabeth this time Lance as I am not quite ready to clean for time as it put my back in crap last time out. With full squat clean I done 10.33 and with power clean 6.52 I think last time.
Todays squat clean practice however my back is ready for , keep the concentration better without my stopwatch screaming faster at me!!! |
Re: A Bears Tale
There was a great WOD for building tricep endurance not long ago James. It involved push ups, push press & ring dips.
 I remember our conversation on the comments, damn you hated that WOD!! Thats some remarkable fasts your doing there , over 24 hours sometimes, my stomach starts moaning if I dont eat every hour!!!
FINE, I guess you proved me wrong, didn't you?! Honestly though, better late than never to see the wisdom of the WOD. One of the reasons I'm back on it til Christmas intelligent programming. The other being I plan on getting squat stands for Christmas :) Oh yeah, it's a great feeling from fasting, though sometimes it's not so plain sailing. If you don't get all the calories you need on average over a few days, the deficit begins to tell and concentration suffers. The hunger side of it I find is fine, but once my mind begins to adapt to a ketotic state, then all will be gravy. You never thought of going IF? |
You never thought of going IF?
I must admit not to have ever read or looked into IF much so im not sure of what the benefits are. I would be worried about losing too much weight as I do eat constantly and sometimes my bodyweight can fall off much too fast. I do understand what you mean about the push push push wod as towards the end its total shutdown of upper body. Just another kind of punishment for the body. 28 October 2008 Helen 3 rounds for time: Run 400m 21 DB Swins 25k 12 Pull Ups - 8.30 (pr 8.25) This was not a pr but would of been if the stupid treadmill did not stop while I was doing my second set of pull ups. I actually heard it slow down , I leave it running and just jump off the back. This time I left it running at over 16k (10mph) which it did not like. I was hitting buttons like a mad man and shouting at it, all that pain for ****ty machinery to ruin my WOD. Re: A Bears Tale
Way to go, Scott. I just got caught up --- I missed some good stuff, though I've been reading the emails.
I'm sorry I couldn't beat you on the Albany October Challenge. My gastroc/achilles tendon isn't healed yet. I tried running last Thursday and it bit me again, fast. I hope to be back on 4 x 400m in a couple weeks! I need it to hit my sub-60 goal this year. I like this Jacob's Ladder WOD. Where did you find it? |
