Double Unders

I just cant seem to be able to do double unders. Ive been CFing for almost wo months and have been able to really get good form with the majority of the new movements. DU's just arent happening. Can someone please give some advice?

I feel like i think about it too much...any way to overcome that?

Forget the double unders. Get comfortable jumping rope. Once you can jump for 5 minutes, start throwing in the occasional double-under.

Make sure you're jumping on a surface with some give (not concrete), to avoid shin splints.

Yeah, Tom is right, and if you keep doing that 5 minutes of jumping everyday, the double unders will go up from a few to a lot. At least that's what is happening to me, even if I'm still far from a lot of them.. And let me add another thing: get a good jump rope, one that can go fast, even if cheap.

After watching the video from today's Main page demo, it's clear to me that I have to get a decent rope. I couldn't get the ropes I've been using to move that fast if my life depended on it!

Watch the Buddy Lee videos that were on the main page recently. Focus on the perfect jump; straight up and down, and getting your feet off the ground as quickly as possible. Finally, get a good, fast rope, and make sure it's short enough. Also, alternating single and double seemed to help me alot.

Thanks for all the replies. 5 minutes is just around the corner. I will definetely shoot for that.

Is a weighted rope preferable or a speed rope? Or both?

Jumping rope is completely new to me so sorry for the dumb questions that may seem obvious to others.
