Re: Nik

Fantastic work Nik and that rig is a nasty contraption, that was one of the worst and hardest workouts I have done, the last round was just getting through it.

Nik Nichols 06-30-2009 01:55 PM

Re: Nik

Thanks Scott, it was one of the toughest I have done too. Eh the ''rig '' works. One day I will get 1.5 pood and then a 2 pood. But for now this works.

Matthew Green 07-01-2009 03:07 AM

Re: Nik

Nice Rig Nik........ Awesome work on Eva also!

Just a thought: you could use hose clamps and some rubber piping to keep the weight in place if you're worried about the collars slipping?

Camille Lore 07-01-2009 05:42 AM

Re: Nik

Man- you've got some great innovation going on over there....
I love it-the rig.

Thanks, I do what I can, my rope has always held, but hose clamps are a great idea. It would be embarising if i let it, but it is funny and it does the job, check your pride right?

Congratulations NIk you just run 10k. Great how people train for months to specifically run a 10k were as we wake up and get told to just run it. I learned how to do your special walk of glory

Yea, Brady and I talk about how we will do whatever is posted. It doesnt matter, virtual shoveling? sure thing. Run 10k after all the running we did during this cycle? No problem.

So you had a taste of the High stepping walk?!?! YOu got it done that is what counts.

Great job on the 10k Nik, I hope you have a wonderful rest day. Your legs will need it. I am not looking forward to the 10k run.
Nice job on a 10k in the heat. I bet the humidity is killer too.
Thanks Camille, actually it wasnt as bad as it could have been, I think I walked more because Of my leg then anything else.

Re: Nik

"Randy"

75 pound Power snatch, 75 reps for time.

CFWU x2 with 40 lbs on sits and back ext.

Time was 11:04,

fun workout, allthough, my legs were still sore from the 10k and my class workout. Not so bad to really kill me, but I was feeling them big time. Hook grip was good. I got 30 in a row befor I rested, each rep was reset and pulled properly, no touch and go.

Scott Jenkins 07-03-2009 12:44 PM

Re: Nik

Well done NIk, I thought you had curled up and died after the 10k run. How come you never hit any touch and go reps, everyone of mine was that way. Oh yes and my calves are still making walking hard from the run and Eva.

No,I was just busy yesterday, I didn't get a chance to get on line. Long story.

I was afraid of bad back form, so I was real deliberate with it, plus after my classes I am trying to cement the form to correct bad form. I thought I did good with it till I saw what you and Ernie did, I will most be pushing harded next time.

Shoulder press 1-1-1-1-1 reps
Push press 3-3-3-3-3 reps
Push Jerk 5-5-5-5-5 reps

sp 95,105,115,125,135lbs That 135 went up right side then the left, but it went again.

PP 135,145,155,165x1,155lbs

PJ 135,145,155,165x4,155lbs

To get this workout done I had my 2yo son with me, mom is sleeping in. It was intresting destracting and great fun to have him with me, he was rolling arround the warehouse on his trike and when I was push pressing he made a round arround me. It was great.

I'm glad I got all the workouts done this cycle, I was afraid I would miss some.

Great job on badger and the pushing wod Nik! I have done badger once before back when i first started crossfitting and i didn't finish it so props to you for getting it done. I know those squat cleans are murder especially with the run. I will do badger tonight and the push wod tomorrow. My gym was closed on the 4th and i was too hungover on sunday to do anything but drink water and rest lol. Still feel kind of crappy today but i'm gonna get it done regardless. lol

Re: Nik

21-18-15-12-9-6-3 rep rounds of:
185 pound Front squat
GHD Sit-up

CFWUx2 with 40lbs

Time was 24:52,

I had to scale, I got the first 4 rounds with 185, first 3 reps of the 9 reps, scale 10 lbs, couldnt keep the bar up, or get deep enough, got mad, jerked the weight down to 135lbs and finished the last 3 reps of the 9rep, and used 135 for 6,and 3.

I am the first to tell someone to scale, I got to eat some humble pie and do it my self. No excuses.

Scott Jenkins 07-07-2009 12:43 PM

Re: Nik

Thats fantastic Nik, when I read on my log you scaled I thought you meant the whole thing , the fact at your weight of 165lb that you managed 72 reps with 185lb is massively impressive, great work I am giving you a dancing veg for pure tenacity. :pepper:

Thanks Nick, I found in my log that in the 3rep max ( I think it was 7 rounds, maybe 5 rounds) that on my second or third round I did 185, so it wasnt really close to my max. I thought I could chip away at the reps in the WOD, but it got me I lost form and depth. But it was good. I just got mad because I got so far through it, I thought I had it. But better to scale and not get an injury.
