I'm not sure what to call this issue, as it's not pain or injury, but it has me concerned.

When doing deadlifts, I experience a sharp feeling along the top of my thigh, not pain but more like an electric shock. There's no residual pain or feeling after I finish working out, and no other problems with it in other workouts.

I can help the problem a little by doing deadlifts with my feet parallel with each other, but I think I read that this was not proper form. I don't want to compensate with poor technique.

Has anyone heard of this? Thanks much in advance for any insights!

I think this may be nothing at all -- just a symptom of being under trained. What may help is Self-myofascial release (SMR) using a foam roller or tennis ball in the area of concern.
