see I though about that and decided that I can kick up to a handstad just fine, it is staying there that is tough, so I thought i didn't need a wall.

Way to work the freestanding HS, Nik. I'm thinking that this WOD would be less annoying if you did HS forward rolls instead of the reverse burpees - probably easier, too, but when you're talking 50-minutes, easier isn't entirely bad. Sort of like doing travelling Diane.

Yea hand stand forward rolls would be more fun. I was/am getting over a cold, I still have drainage , but otherwise ok. When it comes to the workouts, I'm getting winded and am having to stop and get my breathing back. The same thing happened in FGB. But It will pass when I dry up!!

FGB score was 276, we don't have a rower, so we ran and gave ourselves 5 points per round, it was suck central. PM sent

Hey Nik,

How do you run and keep score of rounds? How far do you run? We don't have a C2 in our globo either and the running would be a better alternative than doing burpees!!!

We just went one at a time and kept score for the other person.

Re: Nik

Inspired by Patrick H. and Erin D. I did a lottle skill work on squat cleans

Wormup was 75lbs dead lift
hanging cleans
OHS

2sets of 5 reps at 75lbs squat cleans
1 set of 5 115lbs.

There is so many parts to a good clean, so much to focus on. I was focusing on the pull under the bar, new to me. I can feel it, but it is all so fast, it will take some practice to get it isolated.

Re: Nik

Power clean 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps

CFWUx3 with 25lbs
1. 135lbs
2. 145lbs
3. 155lbs
4. 165lbs(body weight)
5. 170lbs
6. 175lbs
7. failed on 180lbs

So i promised Brady if I didn't get 180 up I would run 800m with the 30lbs weight vest, done and done. Why do i say those things!?!?!

So, do you run as fast as you can for 1 min, see how far you've run and take that as a score? Or do you run laps? and if so, what's the distance / lap? Our options are the dreadmill - so just wondering how the running would work.

Thanks!

It is a lap set up, informal, what 50yards up and back for the minuet, we just run and award it with 5 points, no real science to it.

Someone Tell me I'm not the only one doing todays WOD!!!

100 Squats
5 Muscle-ups
75 Squats
10 Muscle-ups
50 Squats
15 Muscle-ups
25 Squats

I subbed 3 pullups 3 dips for 1 muscleup.

I dont wanna burst your bubble mate, but i think the correct xchange is 4 pullups and 4 dips = 1 muscle up. My reason for saying this was on the 30 muscle up wod, the alternative was 120 dips and 120 pullups.

lol

Good work though.

Well, I'm sick again, My stomach is in bits!!!! I spent the night trying not to get sick. I didn't get much sleep. I'm dehydrated I want to throw up.
I was hoping it would have passed in my sleep, but no such luck. I took some anti nausea med's that I have for an ocasional migrain, reall I forgot I had any till this morning.

I'm on G2 gatoraide and water.

This sucks, it seems like I've been sick for weeks, I'm not or have been 100% in a wile. I'm really just serviving the workouts, not Doing them. If I don't get better in a couple of hours I'll miss todays power snaches. Oh well, what are ya going to do?!?!?:ranting2:

Re: Nik

Well I'm back from the grave. Yea Carla i guess it was the flu. I don't really know, I have been up and down for 3 almost 4 weeks. I get past somthing, then one of the kids passes somthing on. I hope i can keep up my strenth enough to finally get past all of this!! I'll try to catch up with everyones log where i can. Hope you are all still killing it!!

Nik Nichols 11-17-2008 07:05 AM

Re: Nik

Ok. I would like some opinions please. I'm 5foot 7 inches tall. I had gotten up to almost 200 lbs a couple of years ago. I couldn't see my belt. Back would go out for no reason, had to hold my breath to bend over, you get the picture.
Well my wife was pregnant and I pulled my back tieing my shoes. I thought'' I wont be able to pickup my son when he is born if i stay like this!''
I started eating better, and doing the old triditional workouts we all did befor CF.
I got into better shap, lost some weight, did a hard core back workout, got stronger.
Six or so months ago go into CF.

Now I realized i just wanted to be in shape, great shap, but in shape. i took weight out of the equasion. i don't care what i weigh.

Well I got on the scale just to see(first time in over a month)
I'm toped out at 157lbs. THAT IS TO LIGHT!!
I don't want to be this light. I'm afraid of loosing more. i eat like a horse. I eat like you guys dream you could and still loose weight.

I do the main page and a little extea here and there.

What do I do to keep my weight up?

Re: Nik

Two words Nik: "EAT MORE"

If your eating loads and still losing weight it means your metabolism is burning the calories quicker than you are putting them in. I have a very fast metabolism and I have to keep a box of pasta , chicken, tuna and Dolmio sauce (heavy tomato pasta sauce) with me at work all day. If I even go two hours without food I get stomach pains. I know the pasta and red meats is against the crossfit way of eating but with me and obviously you we need to just stuff high carbs in. When I read the foods we should eat there is know way I could afford to buy them in the kind of quantity I need to suppress weight loss and stomach noise. Even when I go on holiday 'All Inclusive massive buffet breakfast lunch, afternoon snack, dinner at least 5 plates full every sitting, i get home after the holiday and I weigh 7lb less, just because I have not been doing heavy lifting!!

Hope this helps Nik, at least you know your not the only one with the problem of being able to eat whatever you want as much as you want.

Bro when i did some bodybuilding i was ona program called Dogg crap ( i title its creator used to get peoples attention.

It advocated vvvvvvv high elvels of protein. I ate alot and was almost sick at time but forced it down, put on 30lbs in 14months. Now not all was good, probs 20lbs good 10 bad, but i got strong.

I was eating this most days.
1. cereal +4 boiled eggs+protein shake with olive oil in for extra calories.
2. 2 (sometimes 3) sandwhiches stuffed with peanut butter and cheese.
3. 2cans of tuna,+chicken breast+cup of pasta.
4. Same as 3.
GYM
Protein shake
5. Serving of mince.
6. Try and cit off carbs at 6-7 oclock. Loads salad/veggies and a meat.
then another shake with oil just before bed.

I didnt eat this for the whole 14months, i added to it, eating the above put 10lbs on me in 6 weeks.
