WOD, foam rolling Shoulder mobility work, Hip mobility drills. DU practice.

I coached Brady through todays WOD and ran the runs with him. It is already killling me not working out. Brady is doing his best to get me to workout with him. Almost worked. If my arm was ok I'd have done it. That is the last of the crying from me.

3:00 break

Foam roll my shoulder and back. Left shoulder really sore. Arm on the out side sore. I did light wind mills 15lbs and my laft shoulder sucked compared to my right. Scott you may be on to something.

DU practice. I got 3 different sets of 25 rep. Some shorter sets. I was just going for max efforts. 25 max be pr if not close. I though I had 30 but missed.
funny when I get tired(or shoulders get tired) my hands don't work together. they lose rythum with each other.

Nik I think its a good idea to take a break. I know its hard. I also completely agree with what everyone else has been saying. Foam rolling the shoulder is definitely a good idea but it is childsplay compared to using a BASEBALL on the upper back and shoulders. This video has done wonders to my shoulders http://journal.crossfit.com/2009/11/upper-body-maintenance.tplWFS.

I found that rolling along the edges of my shoulderblades on my upper back hit some triggerpoints that made a huge difference in pains that were on the front of my shoulders and upper arms. Also, rolling the lats under my arms did the same thing.

GREAT VIDEO, Jesse... thanks for posting it.. I am definitely going to get some of those balls!! Nik.. try these things...

also, I wanted to complement your double unders, Nik!! funny, my shoulder has been acting up, but I did double unders today too!!! great thing to do when "body parts" hurt!!
Keep the faith and remember.. Just like when we are working out and we have to keep moving through the pain, when we need to rest--we need to STAY AWAY from working out even when we are SCREAMING to go for it!! :) :highfive:

Just caught the word on your shoulder. Getting good advice - take a rehab break. This is advice I never took and I am constantly dealing with golf and tennis elbow in both arms - scar tissue builds up. I bumped my inner elbow against my thigh while working out to day and it almost brought tears to my eyes. I agree with you as well that it is addicting. I guess that's why I never took healing breaks. I was afraid I was going to lose too much too fast or end up starting over. You're dedicated and driven so you won't have a problem getting and staying in the saddle once you're healed. I'm the pot calling the kettle black if you haven't figured that out. I always find it easier to give advice. lol

Jesse, that is aq great find!! Thanks, Cathy my wife will pick up some baseballs tomorow. My shoulder needs the work and I didn't even know it. So I will be spending some real time on the balls.

Thank you!!!!

I can't wait to try the rolling. All I have at work is a golf ball, and I will try it tomorrow.

I rolled my back and shoulders on my foam roller last night. Man that felt good. I need to do that everyday.
