Re: Nik
Awesome stuff Nik ! I will try it asap, but I only have 50kg of sand so that will be a big pile of suck :D

Re: Nik
Wow Nik I like this! I have a big leather duffel bag thats already filled with 70lb of sand and I'm going to have to put 30lb of metal plates in it. I'll probably have it slung over one shoulder most of the time. I would imagine what type of weight container/how your carrying it will have a huge effect on how hard this is.
Nice work on your 1/2bw mile! Looks like a fast time to beat:evilsmile. |

If I had to carry two 40 lbs dumbbells I would hav had to put them down for grip. But still I bet I could move pretty quick even like that. I want to do it again. I wen at it with the idea of not putting the bar down. |

AHAHAHAA, you know he wont train with you again!! I am really sore, really sore!! Shoulders, traps, bycepts, outer pec, calfs are killing me!!I'm ok, but really sore. I don't know if it is just the challenge or that and wednessdays WOD DOMs. I am taking a rest day. I saw todays WOD and I wouldn't do it justice the way I feel. I will make it up, because it looks great. I really want a go at it. |

I thought after I made him sick the first time he may not come back for more punishment but big respect to him that he has. Reckon he will be fine this time around, I will chase him all the way shouting. |

Re: Nik
I thought you told Shane (over several beers) that you had this one in the bag and didn't need to do it :)
Slacker!!! We missed you yelling!!! I finally had a fail and landed on my butt. Sucked, but I got back up and kept going.
AHAHAHAA, you know he wont train with you again!! Sorry, the internet at the shop was acting wierd, I guess it is the crossfit site, can you or anyone pullup the main page? WOD 10 squat clens 50 ghds 8 cleans 40 ghds 6 cleans 30 ghds 4 cleans 20 ghds 2 cleans 10 ghds time 19:29 Cleans were good and smooth, all though on the first 10 reps like on rep 4 or5 I remembered the hip drive and got better form. I missed onlt 2 reps. GHD's on the other hand were really broken and hard. REALLY broken. I could get the first 10 reps of each round and struggled from there. reps in 3's2's 5's. No excuses, just the facts. I love a good squat clean!! |
Re: Nik
Just finished with your challenge, it was a great experience!! Thanks a lot!!

Re: Nik
Did this week’s challenge an hour or so after yesterday's SC/ GHD beasty
Carry 1/2 bodyweight for 1 mile. Any drops are rewarded with 5 burpees before continuing. Wore 9kg (20lb) vest and carried a short bar loaded to 38kg giving me 47kg which is about a kilo heavy atm. Kept a steady dog trot the whole way with bar carried in high bar position with hands draped wide crucifix style - no drops at all. 10 minutes flat - happy with that. Great challenge Nik, really enjoyed that!! Cheers, kempie |
Re: Nik
Just did the challenge Nik. It was a great whole body workout with a sandbag! 15:33 for me
|
Re: Nik
"Angie"
For time: 100 Pull-ups 100 Push-ups 100 Sit-ups 100 Squats time 16:16 exactly 1 min faster then last time. Situps hurt after yesterdays GHD's, but were pretty good. Squats were good today.I caught myself slowing down without even knowing it. Pullups are like pullups are. Stopped at 30 reps first time. |

Re: Nik
Great job on Angie nik! That's a fast time. How come u only got 30 pullups in a row? Was that part of ur strategy or did u just feel tired? I got 30 pullups in a row for the first time. Was on pace to get a pr on Angie with 50 squats left and both my quads cramped up. So I had to finish the last 50 in 3 and 5s while stretching out in between. I might try ur chLlenge tonight, depends how my quads feel. They r sore from cramping up.

Just do the challenge tonight whatever your quads feel like Ernie, its not too bad and you will not have to bend your legs that much, also we felt we could of gone faster so run fast from the beginning. :evilsmile |

It sounds worse then it really is, it goes faster then you think it will. GO do it, and go fast. I didn't go fast enough at the start. |
Re: Nik
Complete as many rounds as possible 20 minutes of:
95 pound Thruster, 5 reps 95 pound Hang Powercleans, 7 reps 95 pound Sumo Deadlift High-pull, 10 reps 8 round. last time I got 8 almost 9 rounds. I was in line for 9/10 round at the 10min mark but died quickly ther after. Thrusters and sumos are two of my goats, cleans were a break and really fast, but that was about it. All exercized were in really good form. |
Re: Nik
Great job on Angie Nik, very impressive! How were the Thrusters? Smoked?

Thrusters were hard, but I did all sets unbroken. I think it is mental at this point. Once I got to it, I would do one, take a deep breath do another. |
Re: Nik
About to do that sandbag challenge on the streets of Philly. 100lbs bag, bw=185-190 (haven't weighed in yet today).

I was trying. I'm looking forward to the snaches, but even with good form I don't know if I can pull what Ernie pulled. I did some snach warm up this morning to try to get it going. We will see. |
Re: Nik
No worries nik just get one rep at a time. Try not to get frustrated like me with it lol. I guess we all just need more practice on it since the snatch doesn't come up as often as the other oly lifts. Good luck with it!

Re: Nik
Thanks Ernie.
10:00 break Ku practice, DU practice(5 in a row) Snach practice. Has anybody watched the Mainpage video? That helped my snach alot with the tip on the ''pockets'' (W/F/S) http://media.crossfit.com/cf-video/againfaster_kbpress_pre.mov |

The video was great (note: you attached the KB video here in error, I believe). I definitely bring the bar out away from my body too much and this "pocket" idea and going slooooooowwww till that point really drives in the point to keep that bar CLOSE to body. I still can't get 2 consecutive DU so 5 in a row is amazing to me! :) Great job as usual! |

This should be the proper link(w/f/s) http://media.crossfit.com/cf-video/CFJournal_BurgenerFiles_ThePocketTrailer.wmv Also stay over the bar as you pullit to the pockets. Me I don't have big weight on the snach, but my form is ok. So today will be a test of what I can do. I have never maxxed it. So unfortunatly I'll have to build to a max insteat os pushing close to a max from a start. But the unknown is the fun part. ''What can I do?''Part |
