Re: Nik
Wow! Now that's some progress!!! Nice job, and esp. good on you for stopping when your form was breaking down.
|
Re: Nik
Yeah what they all said Nik, nice gains. 35lb is a big jump on any total.
|
Re: Nik
Well done on getting 2 PR's on the total Nik, strong work. Good idea to back off when your back rounded!!
Yea, I wasn't going to chance it, I haver come to far, I knew it when I picked it up, so there was no use trying for anymore.
Wow! Now that's some progress!!! Nice job, and esp. good on you for stopping when your form was breaking down.
Thanks, like I said, I wasn't going to chance it for a few more pounds, it will come.
Yeah what they all said Nik, nice gains. 35lb is a big jump on any total.
Thanks Jesse, I am really happy with the total, I want more though. I need to get stronger. I get 275 up easy, 315 humped my back. I thought about it for just a second of trying it again to work on form and try to squeez it off the ground and keep my back solid, but I just left it. |
Re: Nik
Man, you guys have had some awsome wods lately. That's a nice increase on the Total man. And that run/burpee wod looked like a killer. Wish I could partake. It's driving me nuts just sittin around. The most I can do so far is go for a couple of walks each day. Feel like I could do more, but not gonna push it. Gettin better each day though. I bet you're chompin at the bit to do those weighted pullups today. Good luck. Catch ya later.

Re: Nik
10:00 break

Hey Brad, I hope you are feeling better. Rest up, get better, you will be back even stronger!! |
Re: Nik
Four rounds for time of:
100 ft Walking lunge, carrying 30 pound dumbbells 24 inch Box Jump, 30 reps 30 pound Weighted pull-ups, 20 reps I did 35lbs lunges 26in box jumps 30lbs vest pullups on rings Time 23:10 it is really uncompareable to last time. I only time the last 3 rounds because I messed up the timer, pullups on bar. |
Re: Nik
Great job Nik! You got me by 33 secs! Grrrrrrr gunning for ya tomorrow lol. How did the weighted vest pullups feel on the rings feel?
|
Re: Nik
Nice work. I can't believe you did it on the rings.
Great job Nik! You got me by 33 secs! Grrrrrrr gunning for ya tomorrow lol. How did the weighted vest pullups feel on the rings feel?
The first round was hard, I would hit the rings at thetop of the pullup, and just drop, there was nothing to push against, so I had to swing from the top to get the kip movement at the bottom. The vest was heavy, but not a problem. My shoulders rubbed the vest some, but not much. Way better then a DB between my legs.
Nice work. I can't believe you did it on the rings.
Thanks Laurie. I love the rings, they don't love me though. Also there were two other guys taking turns on the pullup bar during the WOD, it would have killed the metcon part for 3 of us taking turns so I used the rings. It was fun!!;) |
Re: Nik
Nice job on this WOD Nik, it is definitely an uncomfortable one. The last (and only) time I did high rep ring pullups, I was able to get a sweet butterfly type kip going, I wonder if that would be possible with a vest. Weighted pullups are one of my main weaknesses, they were mostly singles.
|
Re: Nik
I think that ring pull-ups are sweet, I had to make do with only ring or tree branch pull-ups for like the first year of my time doing CF.
Solid time on the wod mate, the box jumps in that workout must have been a suckfest after the lunges  |

My first round were singles till i figured the kip. I was trying to push at the top of the pullup and I would just drop. I figured out this mad swing to keep the momentum going, probably the same as you. Last round was 5 pullups 3,2,3,2,3,2. I would tell mysefl I was going to get 5 and just couldnt.
